Papertrey Ink December Countdown Day 4: Bold Borders, Glorious Globes, Corner Adorner, and XO Skinny Mini...

Welcome to Day 4 of the December Papertrey Ink release!  We have so much to show you today!  

Today's product introductions include this month's Glorious Globes set and the Bold Borders die, (which is covered with hearts and I love it!).  We're also showcasing the month's Corner Adorner (has a cute papel picado vibe), and also a cut sentiment set for Valentine's (and more) called XO Skinny Mini.  You can see all of today's products in full by clicking HERE to the Papertrey Ink blog.

I have a few projects for you today using these new sets!  First up is one of my favorites from the release using the new Bold Borders: Hearts and this month's Glorious Globes.  

I started out by using the Bold Borders die to emboss (instead of cut) a panel of watercolor paper.  Then I did some wet-on-wet watercoloring with shades of pinks, reds, and oranges.  The embossed impression allowed me to go back after the wet-on-wet was dry and add some shading to a few of the hearts here and there around the border.  I also added just a few details with a white gel pen.  I then diecut the Bold Borders from white cardstock and layered it over the top.

Inside the Bold Borders frame, I used the negative part from the white diecut, and stamped it with the new Text & Texture: Bokeh background by sponging the stamp with ink instead of applying directly from the pad to the stamp, to get a softer, faded look.  I stamped the globe using images from the Glorious Globes: Basics set combined with some of the elements from this month's set.  The diecut "love" is the word die that's included in the Bold Borders: Hearts die set.  I love the fun script font of this one!

Next I have a bunch of bright and fun Valentine posie pocket tags using several of the new December products.

I started with the new From the Heart heart dies, using the largest as the base and the second to the smallest as the little insert.  To create the "pocket", I used this month's Corner Adorner set and placed that rounded corner at the tip of the heart, trimming off the excess from the edges of the heart base.

The heart inserts were stamped with some sentiments and hearts from the XO Skinny Mini set.  I also tucked a small flower sprig in each, which were stamped using the Bitty Bouquets set.  

The flowers and the small heart pull out of the pocket to reveal a sentiment stamped underneath, which is also from the XO Skinny Mini set.  I used the corners from the Corner Adorner set to create a "hanger" for some of the tags, and just punched a hole in the top of some of the others just to mix it up a little.
