Simple to Spectacular: Embellished Elegance...
August 29, 2018
It's time for the monthly Simple to Spectacular feature over at Papertrey Ink, and I'm playing along this month with the gorgeous Embellished Elegance set. I love all of the different little florals and leaves in this set, plus that beautiful "happy" word!
So, of course with the Simple to Spectacular feature, we're challenged to make three cards using the featured set, beginning with something simple, then adding to create projects with more layers or techniques. Here is my simplest card...
It's a simple one-layer card. I stamped that pretty "happy" by inking it up with Berry Sorbet and Raspberry Fizz inks. Above that, I stamped a cluster or leaves and flowers from the set.
My next card is still a one-layer card, but with a bit more involved stamping. I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiments first, then filled in the rest of the background with the different leaves and flowers from the set.
All of the different size leaves and flowers from the set are perfect for this technique. I started with the large leaves, then stamped the larger tulip-shaped flowers, then filled in the gaps with smaller bits and blooms.
My final card uses the same basic design as the card above, but this time instead of stamping directly onto the card base, I stamped onto diecuts and layered them over the base. This gives some fun added dimension to the design.
I also added some layers with the sentiments. This time I popped the "happy" up with some foam adhesive and also stamped the "birthday" sentiment onto the stitched banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted die set.
It was fun to pull out this pretty set again and just play! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects!
