Throwback Thursday: Hooray!
July 26, 2018
Happy Thursday!! I'm playing along with this week's Throwback Thursday feature on Papertrey Ink. Each week we pull out an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration. This week's set is Hooray...
It's such a fun set! Do you remember decorating your high school gym for prom by creating walls of twisted paper streamers? I'm probably dating myself, but that's what I think of every time to pull out this set! :-) I have to say, the stamping version is way more fun.
I used the sponging/watercolor technique I shared in a Make It Monday video a few weeks back to create a pretty rainbow background. In that video I showed sponging with just two shades of a single color of ink. I used the same concept here, but just inked up small strips of different colors across the width of my card. Then I brushed over it with a wet brush. After that was dry, I stamped and heat embossed the streamers from the Hooray set in the background. I also stamped the fun confetti dots using the Background Basics: Celestial Sky set, and heat embossed that as well.
I finished it off by adding a Pierced Feature Frame diecut, and a diecut Hooray from the Bold Borders: Burst die (cut from cardstock and adhesive foam for dimension). I also stamped the embossed the small "hip, hip" sentiment from the Hooray set onto a small banner diecut using the Countdown Details dies. I added a few balloons too, using the Birthday Balloons stamps and die.
Hooray! I hope you enjoyed this fun Throwback! If you'd like to see more projects using the Hooray set, you can stop by the Papertrey Ink Blog!
