Papertrey Ink May Countdown Day 3: Seasonal Borders Summer + New Noted dies...
May 12, 2018
It's Day #3 of the Papertrey Ink May countdown, and that means it's time for some more great product reveals!
Today I'll be showcasing the next installment of the Seasonal Borders set - this time a pretty summery tropical border, along with new some Noted dies - this set with a pretty pinked edge. You can see all of the products being introduced on Day 3 HERE. All of these new products will all be up in the store for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on May 15th!
Before I get to the projects, I have a video to share with you that showcases the Seasonal Borders: Summer set and shows you how to stamp these borders easily using a MISTI or other stamp positioning tool.
Now for the projects! Up first is a pretty summer card with a tropical feel that would be perfect for a wedding or anniversary.
I started off with two panels/strips of watercolor paper, which I sponged with pink and orange inks. Then I took a wet brush and brushed over the inking to draw the color out and create brushstrokes. Then I used the palm branch images from the Seasonal Borders: Summer set and stamped several in deeper, coordinating colors. I loved how this turned out and need to play around with this more! (maybe a good Make it Monday topic??)
I stamped one of the Seasonal Borders: Summer border strips and placed it over the seam between the two inked panels. The sentiment was stamped using a new set you'll hear more about a bit later in the countdown!
Next is a fun, summery birthday card. I started off with a card base that was cut with the new Noted: Pinked A2 Vertical die, cut from white cardstock. I love the crisp, clean look of the pinked edge! The die also has some pinked mats in various sizes included in the set.
I also cut a strip of linen cardstock using the new Noted die to place down the center of my card front. I sponged this strip with Tropical Teal and Berry Sorbet/Pure Poppy inks, then spritzed it with water. On the sides of this center strip, I used one of the Seasonal Borders: Summer border. I stamped just one, then trimmed it in half lengthwise, so I could place half of it on each side of the strip.
The sentiment is from Penned Elegance, and it's stamped onto the new Shape Shifters: Circle 2 die. I added some of the individual flowers from the Seasonal Borders: Summer set into a bouquet at the top. I love the tropical feel!
My last project is a simpler, one-layer card that would be perfect for year-end teacher cards with its summery feel.
I started out with a plain white card base, then stamped and heat embossed the over-sized sentiment from the Paper Clippings: Thank You set and heat embossed it with gold powder.
Then I used the individual flowers from the Seasonal Borders: Summer set and stamped them all around the edges.
I hope you enjoyed this peek at the new Seasonal Borders: Summer set! You can visit the Papertrey Ink blog to see more projects using this set! I'll be back tomorrow with more new products and projects! Enjoy your weekend!
