Layton's Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser Blog Hop

I'm excited to be teaming up with so many awesome companies and individuals from the paper crafting community today to support Lea Lawson and a wonderful project she has undertaken. Lea and her family have been through so much, and you can read her story here.
In honor of their sweet baby Layton, Lea has put together a fundraiser, blog hop, and card drive aimed at supporting parents who find themselves thrust into life at the NICU of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. The money raised through this fundraiser will be used to purchase Starbucks gift cards to give to the parents of children in the NICU. This small act of kindness can help brighten their day during what is likely a very dark and stressful time.
Lea asked several of us to participate in a blog hop to get the word out. We were asked to create an encouragement card based on this mood board, inspired by their Layton. I'll share my card, and then a few ways that you can help (and possibly win an awesome prize)!
The outdoor, mountain theme inspired me to pull out my Mountain Majesty stamp set and pair it with a sentiment from the Inspired: Faith set. I thought this sentiment would be perfect for those facing what they might feel are insurmountable odds.
To create the card, I started out by watercoloring a scene of trees and a sunny sky using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I then diecut an oval from the center of this panel.
Inside the oval cut-out, I created a scene using the Mountain Majesty stamps and dies, along with a few trees cut from Aqua Mist cardstock using the Scene It: Mountain View dies. The sentiment is a combination of stamps and dies from the Inspired: Faith set. The "faith" was diecut from Weathervane cardstock.

- CREATE! - this is also a card drive, and if you'd like to create a card using the theme/moodboard above, we would love that! Lea will be including these handmade treasures with the giftcards when she hands them over to the NICU social worker, and her dream is that the NICU will be covered in beautiful creations inspired by Layton!!
