It's Day 2 of the March Papertrey Ink countdown - time to showcase more of the new goodies coming your way on the 15th!
Today I get to help introduce a new set designed by Heather, called Butterfly Blooms. It's so pretty! The butterfly is gorgeous, plus there are some cute flowers and fun sentiments.
The new Butterfly Blooms stamps and dies, as well as anything else I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on March 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
My first card uses just the new Butterfly Blooms set. I started out with that pretty butterfly. I stamped it in black, and heat embossed it with clear powder to give it some shine and dimension. Then I watercolored it with orange and yellow watercolors.
I added it to a panel of watercolor paper, which was watercolored with the same colors. I diecut a whole bunch of flowers from vellum using the Butterfly Blooms dies. I piled them up over the watercolored areas, and embellished the centers of each with sequins.
My next card uses Butterfly Blooms again, this time combined with a new die coming your way - Shape Shifters: Oval 1!
This month's Shape Shifter is a pretty scalloped oval with a stitched border and a floral insert. Of course like the other Shape Shifters and the Mix & Mat collection, the three dies in the set can be used all together, or independently. I used all three here. I colored the pretty Butterfly Blooms butterfly with markers after stamping it in orange ink.
I used a few of the leaf cut outs from the floral insert of the Shape Shifters die to embellish the butterfly. I colored them with Copics. The sentiment is also from Butterfly Blooms, and was stamped on a banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted die set. The card base was sponged with Berry Sorbet ink and misted with water and also gold Color Shine spray.
That's a wrap for Day 2! We'll see you here again tomorrow.
