Papertrey Ink Anniversary Celebration Day #5: Garden of Faith and Huggables Bunny & Chick...
February 14, 2018
Ah! I can't believe we're already on the final day of the product reveals for the big Papertrey Ink February release and anniversary celebration! We have more fun stuff to reveal today.
Anything I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on February 15th from Papertrey Ink.
I'm showcasing several different products today: Seasonal Borders: Spring, Garden of Faith, and the Huggables: Bunny & Chick. I'll explain more about each as we go along.
First up is the Seasonal Borders: Spring set. For those of you that purchased this year's big holiday kit Wonderland, you will be familiar with the concept of this series. There was a floral border in that set - created by stamping motifs repeatedly to create a border. This series is based on that idea and will have a pretty multi-step border for each season.
I put together a video on how to stamp the borders from this set. We're including a small stencil with the stamp set, to use as a stamping guide, and I'll show you how to use that in this video.
I also have several projects using the Seasonal Borders: Spring set. This first one uses the pretty border from that set, along with another set being showcased today -- Garden of Faith. The Garden of Faith set has several faith-based sentiments, all with a garden or flower theme.
I used the stitched border from the new Shape Shifters: Circle 1 die set to create a frame for the sentiment, which was stamped in Saffron Spice ink. I stamped some of the flowers from the Seasonal Borders: Spring set underneath the sentiment.
For the border, I diecut and stamped just one floral border from the set using shades of pink, then trimmed it in half vertically and placed one half on each side. of the center panel, which was trimmed down slightly narrower than the card base.
My next card uses the Seasonal Borders: Spring set in a different way. Besides the elements to stamp the borders, there are individual flowers. I combined those with the lilies from the Lilies of the Field set to stamp a floral frame on this card.
I used a bit of a different color palette here --- Scarlet Jewel, Enchanted Evening, Melon Berry, and Ocean Tides for the main colors. The sentiment stamped in the center is from the Garden of Faith set.
I stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card, along with a few more flowers.
Next is another card that uses the Seasonal Borders: Spring set, along with a sentiment from the Words to Live By: Kindness set.
I stamped the border in bright, springy colors, then layered it over a strip of new Lilac Grace Bitty Big plaid paper.
I stamped the sentiment in matching ink colors, then embellished it with a few of the flowers from the Seasonal Borders: Spring set.
Now I have a few projects using the new Huggables: Bunny & Chick stamps and dies. Up first is a card. I diecut several of the eggs from this set and colored them with bright colored Copics.
I wrapped the chick's wings around the bundle of eggs and attached the whole works to a card base that was sponged with some Aqua Mist ink. The cute chick's face is super easy with just the beak and stamped eyes from the Huggables: Bunny & Chick stamp set. The bow that's included in the set can be added to the head like I did here, or as a bowtie if you'd like a more boyish look.
I added some grass to the bottom, which was cut using the Cover Plate: Mighty Jungle die set. I stamped a sentiment from the Bunny & Chick set in the upper right corner. There are multiple sentiments included in the stamp set.
Of course the Huggable: Bunny & Chick stamps and dies are meant to coordinate with the Tag Sale: Huggable die so that you can wrap up all sorts of goodies.
I put some bright colored candy into small glassine bags and tied them closed with a bit of ribbon. I wrapped the Huggable's arms around each and secured with some adhesive.
The sentiments are from the Huggables: Bunny & Chick stamp set. The "some bunny loves you" sentiment was stamped onto the egg diecut from the set. The other sentiments were stamped onto oval labels, which were cut with the Jar Labels II set. Such fun treats to put together!
Can you believe we've already come to the end of the product reveals for our big February celebration!? Tomorrow's the big day when all of the new stuff goes live in the store...10pm ET! See you then!
