Papertrey Ink Feature: Sing a Song of Christmas...
October 10, 2017
Good morning! I can hardly believe how time flies lately! It's time to kick of the Papertrey Ink October release!
One of my new sets is being showcased today, called Sing a Song of Christmas. Music is a big deal around our house. I have three kids -- between those three kids we have a trombone, a saxophone, a violin, a cello, and two piano players (and my older daughter has been begging me for guitar lessons on top of the 3 instruments she already practices daily. :-) ) This might sound strange to most moms, but my girls actually fight over the piano. They both love to play and if they are home there is almost always someone playing. So I was excited to put together a set with some fun, whimsical sentiments based on favorite Christmas songs, along with a few instruments.
The new Sing a Song of Christmas set, along with anything else mentioned as "new" in today's post, will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on October 15th from Papertrey Ink.
Let me share a few projects using the new Sing a Song of Christmas set!
First up is an elegant take on the set, with some classic black and gold. I started with a panel of Smokey Shadow cardstock and heat embossed the "have yourself a merry little Christmas" sentiment with gold embossing powder. I also stamped a couple of the keyboard onto the background using black ink.
I diecut the cello, treble clef, trumpet, and keyboard from white cardstock and stamped them with the images from the Sing a Song of Christmas set. I heat embossed the trumpet with gold powder. The four different sentiments in the set are designed so that they can be embellished with any of the instruments or the treble clef. Here I positioned the trumpet at the start of the sentiment.
I clustered them all on my Smokey Shadow panel, layering them with the large floral bouquet from the Wonderland kit, diecut from the patterned papers from the kit.
My next card is a softer take on the set. I clustered the trumpet with a couple of berry clusters from the Beautiful Berries: Winter set.
The sentiment was stamped onto a scalloped rectangle, which was cut with this month's new Mix & Mat: Snowflake die collection. It was stamped with Saffron Spice ink. I stamped some snowflakes from the set using Fine Linen ink.
This scalloped diecut was layered over a panel of Pale Peony cardstock which was embossed with the Sheet Music Impression Plate.
My last card for today is a fun take on the Sing a Song of Christmas set. I paired the "'tis the season..." sentiment with the snowman from the Holiday Hugs mini kit that was released last year. I dressed up the Tag Sale: Huggable die with all of the snowman accessories from the kit.
The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with white powder, then sponged with Aqua Mist ink.
I added some diecut notes and snowflakes from the set, and also put the treble clef in the snowman's hands. He looks so happy. :-)
