Introducing On the Wagon...
July 13, 2017
Good morning! It's time for some more new product intros for the July Papertrey Ink countdown! Today I have a fun set to introduce called On the Wagon, which features an adorable vintage station wagon along with some different things to put on top and a few scene building elements!
This new On the Wagon set, along with the coordinating dies (and anything else mentioned as "new") in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on July 15 from Papertrey Ink.
Let me show you a few projects using On the Wagon!
This first card is a fun, beachy birthday card. I started by sponging some blues and yellows in the sky. I stamped the "sand" using the large element from the stamp set, which can be used for sand, snow, grass, or water, depending on the colors. Here I used Fine Linen for sand and stamped it a few times along the bottom edge.
The station wagon was stamped in Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Kraft, and Cocoa Bean, along with Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, and True Black. I mentioned there were a few different toppers for the car. Here I used the surf board, along with the other two surfboards from the set leaned up against the palm tree, which is also from this set.
The sentiment was done by diecutting the "happy" using the Ways to Say: Happy Birthday die. The banner was cut using the Banner Journal Card, and stamped with the Simple Alphabet set.
My next card uses the station wagon along with the luggage that can be put on top. I also used my new Mountain Majesty set to create a cool background!
I started by sponging green ink along the bottom, and blue up at the top. I stamped the grounding element from the On the Wagon set in green to mimic shadowy grass. The car was stamped in Bright Buttercup and Summer Sunshine. The mountains were stamped using Smokey Shadow (the lighter layer was just sponged onto the stamp to create a lighter effect and the darker layer was inked up normally). I added the optional snowcap layer and heat embossed it with white powder.
I added some tree clusters from the Mountain Majesty set, as well as an eagle. The sentiments are from the On the Wagon set.
My last project for today uses the tree on top of the wagon for a fun Christmas card. The tree fits on top of the car, but it can also be used upright.
I started by stamping the Background Basics: Celestial Sky and heat embossing with white powder. Then I sponged some Spring Rain ink over the top. I also stamped a couple of the "snow drifts" in Spring Rain. I sponged the ink onto the stamp for a very light look. I stamped the treed in shades of green and tied some twine around the one that I added to the top of the car.
Before adhering everything I diecut an oval from my panel using the Noted: A1 dies. I added my panel to a card base and stamped the "merry Christmas" sentiment from the set.
Thanks for stopping by! Nichole and Wanda will be sharing more of this set as well if you'd like to see more!
