Year of Psalms: June...
June 11, 2017
Good morning! I hope your Sunday is off to a blessed start. Today I'm sharing some projects using this month's new Year of Psalms set, which is being showcased in today's Papertrey Ink countdown posts. This month's verse is from Psalm 23:2...another favorite.
The Year of Psalms: June set includes the verse, along with a few trees, water waves, and a couple of sheep. Great for scene building, it's a little $5 set that really packs a punch. This new set will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on June 15th from Papertrey Ink.
I'm excited to share the projects I made with this set - I created a coordinating set of three cards. For this first one, I pulled out some reinkers and did some watercoloring. I added some water in the lower left corner, and some green hills around that.
Then I pulled out the Year of Psalms: June stamps and stamped the trees by inking them with Ripe Avocado and Pinefeather inks. I stamped the waves in my watercolored water using Enchanted Evening ink. I used the circular brushstroke stencil from the new Herb Garden kit (which you'll see more of very soon!) to sponge some yellow sunshine. I finished it off by stamping the sheep and the sentiment in True Black ink.
All three cards in the set I created coordinate, but are each a bit different. This next one uses the circular brushstroke stencil from the new Herb Garden kit. I sponge blue, green, and yellow inks around the circle - blue near the bottom to look like water, green on the sides where the trees would go, and yellow in the sky.
I left the stencil in place and stamped the trees and water waves. Then I pulled the stencil away and stamped the sentiment. Quick and easy card!
My last card uses the rectangular brushstroke stencil from the Herb Garden kit, along with this month's Mix & Mat dies. I used just the outer frame portion of the die set to create a solid layer. I placed the rectangle stencil over the diecut and sponged blue and green inks.
Again I left the stencil in place and stamped the trees and water waves. The sentiment was then stamped with black ink. I attached that to a card base embossed with the Woodgrain Metal Stencil.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you have a great day! If you'd like to see more of the Year of Psalms: June set you can stop by Keeway and Nichole, they'll both have more projects to share!
