More June Release: Quoted: True Friends and Herb Garden...

More projects today using the new June stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink!  Today's featured sets are Quoted: True Friends and the Herb Garden mini kit.

First I'll share a project using the Quoted: True Friends set.  This simple card might be my favorite from the whole release.  I used the rectangle stencil from the Herb Garden kit as both a stencil and a mask.

I started off by diecutting a couple of the petunias from Humming Along from lightweight copy paper.  I placed them under the rectangle stencil and inked it with Aqua Mist ink so that the petunia areas would stay white so that I could stamp in this area.  I removed the petunia diecuts and stamped the petunias with the stencil still in place.

I stamped the sentiment from the Quoted: True Friends set in black ink over the top.  I really want to try this again - very fun technique!

Next up I have a little notecard set using the Herb Garden set paired with the Seed Packet Frames from the Garden Variety and Garden Variety 2 sets.

Herb-Notes1

The base of the notecards was cut using the Noted: Scalloped A1 die which I watercolored a frame using the New Leaf re-inker.

I put one of the herbs in each of the frames.  Some of the names were stamped right on the Seed Packet Frame, others were stamped on the insert and heat embossed with white powder.

The seed packets were stamped with True Black ink, with the details of the frames stamped in Green Parakeet and New Leaf inks.

I had a blog reader ask if the herbs fit in the Seed Packet Frames, which is what inspired this little notecard set.  They all fit really well as you can see, except for the thyme sprig, which is a little large, but still works as you can see below.  I just trimmed away the excess.
