Introducing Humming Along and Beautiful Berries: Summer...
June 10, 2017
Good morning! It's time to kick off the June Papertrey Ink countdown! We have lots of great new stamps and dies coming your way again this month including some really pretty summery things that I can't wait to show you!
A couple of my new sets are being showcased today -- Humming Along and Beautiful Berries: Summer. Humming Along features some pretty multi-step hummingbirds along with a couple of different hummingbird flower favorites -- petunias and fuchsias. The summer berry set features some pretty raspberries (or blackberries, depending on your color choices!).
These new stamps and dies, along with anything else I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on June 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
My first card uses the new Humming Along set. I stamped the hummingbirds in pretty shades of pink. The large bird was stamped with Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewel, Limeade Ice, and Green Parakeet.
I clustered a couple of the petunias in the bottom corner. The darker cluster was stamped with Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy for the blooms, the lighter cluster was stamped with Pale Peony and Berry Sorbet.
Before adhering everything I sponged some Aqua Mist ink onto my card front. The sentiment, also from the Humming Along set was stamped in True Black ink.
My next card uses the new Beautiful Berries: Summer set. I started by stenciling the brushstroke circle in the center of my card front using a stencil from a new mini kit I have coming out this month that you'll see more of in just a few days. I stamped the "thank you..." sentiment in black using the previously released Pen & Ink set.
I stamped several of the small and medium berry clusters from the Beautiful Berries: Summer set using jewel tone inks. I made use of my MISTI for the leaves - I stamped them first with Aqua Mist ink, then stamped over them again with Vintage Jadeite ink to give them a pretty teal color. The veins were stamped with Tropical Teal.
I added a few sequins to finish off this simple, summery card that kind of makes your mouth water. ;-)
My last card for today combines both the Humming Along and Beautiful Berries: Summer sets for a really vibrant, colorful summery thank you card. I started off by stamping the humming bird in shades of green and purple, with a touch of teal on the throat area. It's really fun to play around with different color combos for these birds. The multi-step stamps really let you get creative with your color combos.
I stamped the petunias using Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel inks. The cluster of berries was stamped with Amethyst Allure and Royal Velvet, with the leaves done in the same teal-y green as I explained on the card above.
I snuck in one other new product - this month's Mix & Mat die collection called Pretty Brackets. I features a pretty frame, stitched border, and a lattice-like insert. The sentiment is from Keep It Simple II set, stamped on the stitched banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted set. The whole works was added to a card base that was sponged with some Tropical Teal ink along the top.
If you'd like to see more of these sets in action, Dawn will be sharing Humming Along projects, and Melissa will have some Beautiful Berries: Summer projects. I'll be back tomorrow with more!
