Papertrey Ink May Countdown Day #4...

It's Day #4 already in the May Papertrey Ink countdown!  I thought I'd pop in with just a few more projects using some of my new sets coming out on the 15th.

My first card uses stamps and dies from the new Out of This World mini kit.  I wanted to go with a fun and whimsical take and played around with creating a pretty background.  I started off with a panel of watercolor paper and stamped it multiple times with this fun image from the stamp set - a circle with two "arms" which is great for building fun backgrounds.  I also stamped several of the "star clusters" and heat embossed everything with clear powder.  Then I watercolored the whole works with Enchanted Evening, Tropical Teal, and Royal Velvet reinkers.

When that was dry, I stamped more of the dotted star clusters to the background, as well as the orbit, using the same ink colors I used for the watercoloring.  I also stamped some stars from the set.  I filled in some of the circles with planets, made with the kit stamps and dies.

The sentiment was done using the Number the Stars stamp set and coordinating die.

My next card uses the Heart & Sole set.  I paired it with the previously released Making Strides set, which if filled with sentiments that are the perfect complement to the Heart & Sole set.  So great for teens - boys or girls, depending on your color choices.  My son is a runner, as are most of his friends, so this is perfect for cards for the - graduation, birthdays, encouragement, etc!

I stamped the athletic shoe a couple of times, directly onto a panel of Soft Stone cardstock using Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy, and Orange Zest inks.  I added some splatters from the Grunge Me set, stamped in Smokey Shadow.

The sentiment, from Making Strides, was stamped onto the banner die from the Jar Bonnet die collection, cut from Pure Poppy cardstock, then heat embossed with white powder.
