More Papertrey Ink May Release: Year of Psalms: May and Especially For You
May 20, 2017
Good morning! It's the final day of our post release projects for the May Papertrey Ink release. I hope you've enjoyed them and that your package has reached you (or is getting closer at least!)
Today we're showcasing projects using the new Especially for You and Year of Psalms: May sets.
First up is a card using the Year of Psalms: May set. I decided to create a night sky background for the sentiment, so I did some watercoloring with Enchanted Evening, Dark Indigo, New Leaf, and Royal Velvet inks.
This was watercolored onto a Mix & Mat: Herringbone frame, cut from watercolor paper. I then stamped some trees from the Through the Trees set along the bottom with black ink.
When the panel was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with white powder. I added the diecut corners from the Mix & Mat dies, cut from black cardstock. I attached the finished panel to a Dark Indigo card base.
My next project uses the pretty new Especially for You set. If you like florals to color, you'll love these gorgeous images! I stamped them in black ink onto a Mix & Mat: Scallops diecut, cut from Stormy Sea cardstock, then colored them with colored pencils.
For the blooms, I colored the whole thing with a white pencil, then shaded it with two different shades of pink, using gamsol to blend. The leaves were done with green pencils, but I also colored them with white first, to make them really pop on the dark background.
The sentiment was cut using the Especially for You dies. The card base was cut using the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical dies, cut from white cardstock, then stamped with the floral images from the set, using Stormy Sea ink.
I think that's a wrap for the May release! Happy creating! Don't forget...we'll be back here on May 31st for the full reveal of the Make It Market: Market Street kit!
