Introducing the Year of Psalms series...
March 10, 2017
Good morning! I hope you're ready to kick off the new Papertrey Ink product introductions! Since our February release and anniversary celebration was delayed, I am just now getting to share some of the exciting new things coming your way this year! Today I get to showcase a couple of new monthly series I'll be bringing you each month for the next year!
First off is a series called Year of Psalms. So many of you let me know how much you enjoyed last year's Inspired series, so I wanted to do another scripture series this year. This one will feature a different verse from the Psalms each month. There's always something wonderful to be found in the Psalms...comfort, encouragement, praise, celebration and more. I'm looking forward to using some of my favorites for this series.
The other monthly series I'm doing is actually a die series called Mix & Mat. Each monthly die collection will feature three dies - an outer edge or frame, a border, and an interior pattern cut. The three different parts from each set will be interchangeable with the other dies in the series. You'll be able to collect them all to build a whole library of interchangeable, mix and match borders and frames. I think it's going to be so fun! Sounds a bit confusing, but hopefully it will be clear once we get to the projects! These dies are sized just a bit smaller than an A2 card base.
Let me show you a few projects using these new products. This first card uses the new Year of Psalms: February set (you're actually getting two Year of Psalms sets this month since we skipped February!). I chose to use Psalm 96:1 for this month's set. I started by diecutting that pretty panel using the new Mmix & Mat: Flourish dies. For this panel I used the outer frame die along with the dotted border. I didn't use the inside layer of the die so that I would have a solid frame on which to stamp this pretty sentiment. I heat embossed it with white powder and sponged some Sweet Blush ink over the top.
I stamped the staff and notes, also from the Psalms set onto the background. I added some leaves and flowers from the new Nested Cover Plate die, which you'll be hearing much more about a little later in the countdown. I sponged some Lilac Grace into onto Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical card base.
My next card uses the other Year of Psalms set coming out this month. This one uses one of my very favorite verses - Psalm 91:4. This verse is paired with a few small two-step feather images. For this card I started with a panel of Rustic White cardstock and used just the dotted border die from the new Mix & Mat: Flourishes die collection to cut the dotted frame.
I used a rainbow of inks to stamp a bunch of those feathers around the outer edge of the panel. Inside the frame, I stamped the sentiment from the Year of Psalms: March set. I also stamped a few of the small splatters from the set using Fine Linen ink. I attached the panel to a Stormy Sea card base.
My next card uses the Year of Psalms: February set again. This time I paired it with the border and inner dies from the Mix & Mat die set. I made a fun background by filling the diagonal stripes in the Mix & Mat set with a rainbow of cardstock colors.
I trimmed a panel of vellum to fit just inside the dotted border. I stamped the Year of Psalms: February sentiment and heat embossed it with white powder.
My last project today uses the Year of Psalms: March set one more time. All of the images used here - feathers, brush strokes, and splatters are from the set. I started by sponging some ink onto a panel of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock that was cut with the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die. I also spritzed it with water.
Once dry, I stamped the sentiment first, then stamped the feathers and border around it. I attached the finished panel to a Royal Velvet card base.
See you back here soon!
