Celebrating the Past, Present and Future: 2012
February 16, 2017
Good morning again! Are you enjoying this trip through time with all of us at Papertrey Ink? I know I am! It's been fun looking back and pulling out old favorites...I never have as much time as I'd like to do that.
Today the team is featuring favorites from 2012. I chose Hello Sunshine. It's been a favorite from the moment it was released. I use all of those different sun rays all the time. They're so great for building backgrounds, plus I love the fun sentiments.
I created a couple of new cards for you using this set.
First up is bit of sunshine-y watercoloring. I started by doing a bit of watercoloring on the left side of a panel of watercolor paper, in the area where I was going to stamp the center of the sun. Then I stamped the rays and used a wet brush to do a bit more blending. I then stamped the detail "stitched" rays over the solid ones, using a darker shade of ink.
I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the set using black ink. I added some diecut clouds using the What the Doodle: Sun dies, and added a few sequins as well.
I was in the mood to keep on stamping, so I made a second card using the Hello Sunshine set. I started by sponging ink onto a panel of white cardstock - Aqua Mist in the center and Harvest Gold on the outer edges. I then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with white powder.
I stamped the stitched rays, inking them with both Aqua Mist and Summer Sunrise inks to kind of follow with the sponged background. I added a bunch of What the Doodle: Sun cloud diecuts along the bottom and sprinkled in some sequins.
