Celebrating the Past, Present and Future: 2008

2008-peek

Good morning!  In case you missed the excitement, Papertrey Ink is celebrating its 10th anniversary!  We are doing things a bit differently this month...because of the overwhelming response to the sale last month, we are taking a break from releasing any new product.  We'll be doing the whole big anniversary celebration with new product reveals next month. So for February, we are going back through the last 10 years of Papertrey releases and showcasing some of our favorites throughout the years.

Yesterday, half of the team posted projects using stamps from 2007, Papertrey's first year in business, so today the other half of the team is showcasing projects using sets released in 2008.  We'll go back and forth, sharing projects for a total of 10 days, celebrating 10 years worth of product releases!

So looking back through the 2008 releases, one set that stood out to me as one that I still love to pull out is Out On a Limb.  It's such a great basic that can be paired with so many other sets, done in a simple style that never looks dated.

Out on a limb

Here's a project I created with this set.  I started by sponging some Green Parakeet and Aqua Mist ink onto some watercolor paper.  Then I used the branch to stamp a frame.  I added the leaves using one of the stamps from the set as well.

It's fun to perch all sorts of things on those branches.  Here I pulled out the bird from the Spring Woods set.  I stamped some flower clusters from Out On a Limb set and hand-cut them (gasp! - the set was released before we had dies)  :-)   I also pulled out the very pretty coordinating sentiment set -- Out On a Limb Sentiments, and stamped the Amazing Grace sentiment inside the frame.

Stop by Nichole's blog to share a new project you make with this product, or just share a creation that is somehow inspired by what I made today.
