Hills Series Revisited...
January 01, 2017
Good morning and Happy New Year! What will 2017 bring us? I hope it's filled with blessings for you and your family!
The first of the month means the Papertrey Ink Sr Team is also here to bring you another Revisit...the time of the month when we pull out a previously released set and bring you some fresh inspiration. This month we're featuring not just a single set, but a seasonal series...the Hills series. Nichole challenged us to pull out a couple of our favorites and create two new projects.
I chose to use Winter Hills and Spring Hills. For the Winter Hills card I stamped a simple scene using the house image and tree, stamped onto a Basic Bookmark diecut. The house was stamped with Smokey Shadow ink, the roof was colored with a Zig Clean Color marker. The trees were stamped in Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet inks. I added some simple shadows to the trees and house using a light gray Copic marker. The sentiment was stamped with Stormy Sea ink.
For the background, I started with a panel of watercolor paper, and sponged it with some Aqua Mist ink. I stamped some trees in Versamark and heat embossed them with white powder, and stamped a few more in Aqua Mist ink.
For my spring version, I stamped the rectangular spring scene onto a Double Ups Rectangle diecut and colored it with colored pencils.
I layered it over a larger rectangle, also cut using the Double Ups Rectangle dies. I sponged it with Limeade Ice and Aqua Mist inks, then stamped the tree from the Spring Hills set a few times along the bottom. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set using black ink.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today! If you'd like to see more fresh inspiration using the four sets in the Hills series, you can hop around to the other Sr Team girls...
