December Release Wrap Up...

It is definitely December around here!  Brrrrrr!  Looks like we're not going to make it above zero for the next few days.  I think I'll stay in and bake, craft, and knit...sounds like a plan, don't you think?

For today, I have a few more Papertrey Ink December release projects to share with you.  Tonight's the night when all of the new stamps and dies go up in the store at 10pm ET.  Happy shopping!

My first project uses the Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love set combined with the wreath from the To Have & To Hold set.  I didn't get a chance to play around with so many of the Puppy Love accessories for my project yesterday, I just ran out of time!  So I had to squeeze in one more project using this set.  I dressed the boy and girl up in their cute duds from the Puppy Love set and nestled them inside the center of the heart wreath...kind of a Valentine-y take on the wreath card I did with the Dress Up Dolls: Elves a few months back.

I had to nestle the little puppy in there too, with his leash.  The girl is holding a rose, also from the Puppy Love set -- the sentiment is from the set too.  I scattered a few diecut and stamped hearts around the wreath, which are from the To Have & To Hold set.

My next project uses the new Fresh Bouquet set combined with a sentiment from the Inspired: Love set.  I stamped the bouquet outline in black, then filled in with the filler stamps in all kinds of bright ink colors.

Everything-in-love

I added the bouquet and the sentiment to a panel of watercolor paper that was watercolored a bit and stamped with the leaves from the Fresh Bouquet set.  The "love" was diecut from Autumn Rose cardstock, sponged with some Scarlet Jewel ink, the remainder of the sentiment was stamped in Royal Velvet ink.  The whole works was put on a Royal Velvet card base, cut using the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die.

My last project uses the new Making Strides and She Moves sets.   I absolutely love the sentiments Lizzie included in the Making Strides set.  My son lives and breathes for running cross country, so these are perfect for making notes and such for him!  He has his own little source of inspiration that he wears on his feet every day for practice -- I have to say, I was a little miffed the first time I saw that he had written all over his new shoes, but when I looked closer and saw what it was I decided to let it slide.  *wink*.  Lots of miles on these after a successful season...so proud of him!

Shoes

I decided to use the sentiments in the Making Strides set to put together a photo calendar for him to put on his desk, with photos from this past season.  I used the Coin Purse die fro the base of the calendar pages.  The cover was cut from Soft Stone cardstock and stamped with the large splatter from the She Moves set (I'm going to officially lobby Nichole for a HE Moves set -- haha!) stamped in Smokey Shadow ink.  I used the Wet Paint Alphabet stamps to stamp his school mascot name.  The letters "XC" (short for cross country) were cut from Scarlet Jewel cardstock using the Bookprint Alphabet dies.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the new Making Strides set below that.

For the monthly pages, I printed a free calendar that I had downloaded onto white cardstock, then diecut it with the Coin Purse die.  I printed photos for each page and cut those with the Coin Purse die as well.

Each page was also stamped with the large brushstroke from the She Moves set, as well as one of the sentiments from Making Strides.  I think it turned out pretty fun and I'm going to wrap it up for him for Christmas!
