Introducing What the Doodle: Piece of Cake...
November 11, 2016
Good morning and welcome to Day #2 of the Papertrey Ink Countdown! Today I get to share some projects using this month's new What the Doodle set -- Piece of Cake.
This little $5 set features a slice of cake, a plate (which can double as a saucer for the teacup in the What the Doodle: Tea Time set), a fancy fork, a few different items to place on top of the cake, and also a couple of sentiments.
This new set along with anything else I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EST on November 15 from the Papertrey Ink website.
A few projects for you!
First is a bright and colorful birthday card using the elements from the new What the Doodle: Piece of Cake set. I colored the cake, plate, fork, and candle with Copics. I layered it over an oval that was cut using the Noted: A1 die set sponged with Tropical Teal ink.
The card base was cut with the new Noted: Vertical Scalloped A2 die. I stamped some stars onto the background using the small stamp from the Christmas Cheer set.

Next I have another birthday card. This one combines the WTD: Piece of Cake with the new Big Basics: Wish Big sentiment die. The cake and plate were cut from watercolor paper, then stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I watercolored the images using reinkers.
The sentiment was sponged with a rainbow of inks. The frame around the outside is also a new die you'll be hearing about soon. I added a few clear sequins for a little sparkle.

My last card is a bit softer. I started out with the Noted: Vertical Scalloped A2 die as my base. The detail layer of the cake was cut from white cardstock and stamped with Winter Wisteria ink, then sponged with a bit of the same color. The plate was stamped with Lovely Lady ink and sponged with the same color.
I added one of the little rosebuds from the set to the top and a couple at the base as well. I layered it over a Parisian Doily diecut. The sentiment is also from the Piece of Cake set, stamped with Royal Velvet ink.

That's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with more countdown projects!
