Quick Crafts for the Holidays...
October 12, 2016
I hope you're enjoying the October Papertrey Ink release so far! It's time for the first group post. Today we're showcasing lots of different products and ideas for quick holiday projects. I for one, am always scurrying around during the holidays, trying to wrap up small gifts and treats. The team has lots of ideas for you today!
All of the products I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on October 15, from Papertrey Ink
I created a quick card and coordinating treat container using some of the new October stamps and dies. I paired these cute candy cane cut-out cookies from the new Sweet Holiday Wishes set with this fabulous new Simple Gift Bow die. This die collection is so fun! It features a band, which has detailing on it that almost makes it look like grosgrain ribbon, the bow, the tails, and even a knot layer for the center. Such an easy and quick way to add a bow to any project - no fuss and perfect every time!
The sentiment I used here is also from the new Sweet Holiday Wishes set. I diecut the word from the bottom edge of a panel of Pure Poppy dotted paper and nested a cardstock diecut which was stamped with the coordinating sentiment back inside the cutout. The little holly bits are also from the Sweet Holiday Wishes set.
I made a quick coordinating treat container using some new packaging coming your way. These kraft tubes are so fun! I used the new bow die and wrapped it around the top. One strip wasn't quite long enough so I had to use a part of another. I tied the star-shaped cookie from the Sweet Holiday Wishes set around the bow for a cute tag.
The sentiment across the window on the front of the tube is also from the Sweet Holiday Wishes set.

Next I have a couple of cards using some of my other new sets. Here's one using What the Doodle: Snowflake. I used the largest snowflake image in the set and the coordinating solid die. I diecut and stamped three of them and heat embossed them with white powder, then used my Zig pens to color them.
For the background, I used a panel of linen cardstock and sponged it with ink to match the snowflakes. I spritzed it with a bit of water to add some texture, and also stamped a few of the small snowflakes from the set. The sentiment I used here is from the new Sprig Wreath set.

My last card for today uses the new Paper Clippings: Joy to the World stamps. I stamped the large "j" and "y" with Saffron Spice ink. For the "o" I used the globe image along with the matching die, which is found in the coordinating detail die collection. I stamped it in Pure Poppy, shaded with a bit of Americana.
I also stamped the new Sprig Wreath image around it using Fine Linen ink. The "to the world" sentiment is actually from a new set by Heather called Jingle all the Way.
