October Release Wrap Up...

Introducing NEW! Mini Kit: Holiday Hugs...

Welcome to the last group post day, and the final day of product reveals for the October Papertrey Ink countdown!

Today the team is showcasing a new mini kit called Holiday Hugs. This mini kit coordinates with a new tag die called Tag Sale: Huggable, which will be available for purchase separately.  The tag is a generic base that has a "head" and two arms that can be attached to the sides of the tag to "hug" lots of different things.  The Holiday Hugs kit has all of the details needed to transform the tag base into either a santa or a snowman.  Think of all the different things they could hug!  Mason jars, candy, pencils, bottles of soap or lotion, gift cards, or the cute new kraft tubes that Papertrey will be carrying.  Of just hide a sentiment or a to/from message under their arms. Lots of options!

This new mini kit and coordinating Tag Sale: Huggable die will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on October 15th from Papertrey Ink.

I put together a few projects for you, and I can't wait to play around with some more ideas.  These were all quick and easy to put together!  First up, I used both the santa and snowman on the new kraft tubes that will be available on the 15th.  These are such a great size for candy and treats.

I used lots of the pre-printed elements for these from the papers in the kit, making them quick and easy!  The faces on both are stamped, as is the outline detail on the snowman.  Everything else is pre-printed.

The circle labels from the kit fit perfectly on the lids of the tubes. There are some pre-printed labels that can be diecut with the coordinating die, or you can stamp your own using the stamps in the kit.

Up next I have a few candy cane santas. This gives you a little better view of the Tag Sale: Huggable die.  I cut the tag base and arms from Pure Poppy cardstock, then cut just the top head portion again from white cardstock (just a couple snips with a scissors will separate the round head portion from the rest of the tag).  I adhered that to the Pure Poppy base so my santa would have a white face which I could stamp the eyes and nose onto.

Everything here was done with the stamps this time instead of the pre-printed papers.  I attached the candy canes with a couple of removable glue dots and wrapped their arms around them, using some glue to secure.  The stitched circle label was stamped with the "Hugs & warm wishes" sentiment from the set.

Next I have a couple of gift card holders using the new Holiday Hugs set.  The Tag Sale: Huggable is sized so that a gift card will fit nicely on it.  The top edge of the gift card can be slipped under the slit between the head and the main tag portion, as you can see on the snowman.  For the santa, I paired the Tag Sale: Huggable die with the Post & Parcel Gift Card Envelope die.

When putting the santa together, I adhered his mittens to the envelope, making sure to position them so that the envelope could still be opened.  I used the stamps and dies from the kit to add the sentiments to the envelope.  I love that there are small dies for the to/from sentiments as well as the word "hugs".

For the snowman, I wrapped his arms around the gift card and glued them together to hold the gift card in place.  I topped it off with one of the printed labels that I diecut from the papers in the kit.  I also added some printed mittens.  The hat and snowman itself were stamped.  I should mention too, that there is a stencil in the kit so that you can add patterns to the hat and gloves.  I stenciled a few, but didn't get a chance to incorporate them into a project yet - I'll try to do that for you in tomorrow's post! (did I mention how insanely busy this week has been?!?)

That wraps up my projects for now!  If you'd like to see more of the Holiday Hugs kit in action, you can hop around to the other DT blogs...
