Introducing Paper Clippings: Done in Love and Inspired: Prayer...
July 11, 2016
Good morning! It's Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink July countdown!
A few of my monthly sets are being showcased today - this month's Paper Clippings, which features a great quote by Van Gogh that's going to be great for thank you and appreciation cards. Just like the other Paper Clippings set, there is the main die that features the quote, a set of detail dies (sold separately), as well as a coordinating stamp set.
Also being shown today is this month's Inspired set. This month's featured word is Prayer. There's a word die as well as a $5 companion sentiment set.
All of the stamps and dies I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10p Eastern time on July 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
Now for some projects! First is a card that uses the new Paper Clippings. I cut the main die which features the quote, surrounded by a partial heart shape and some pretty flowers and hearts, from white cardstock. I used Copics to color just the verse portion of the diecut. I adhered it to a panel of watercolor paper which was sponged with some Aqua Mist ink along the bottom and then spritzed with water.
I used the detail dies to cut some flowers and leaves, then stamped them and arranged them in a cluster along the left side of the heart. The flowers are two-step so you can play with colors, or you can use each step individually for a different look.
The stamp set also has some coordinating sentiments that can be stamped on the inside. Here I stamped the "thank you for your kindness" sentiment and a few flowers to bring the front design into the inside.

Next I used the Paper Clippings: Done In Love stamp set to create a set of A1 notecards using the Noted: Scalloped A1 dies. I stamped the large sentiment onto the notecards, which were cut from Linen cardstock. I used my MISTI and a few different ink colors on each to create an ombre effect. For the aqua sentiment I used Aqua Mist and Mint Julep inks. For the coral sentiment I used Pale Peony and Berry Sorbet.
When I was finished stamping the sentiments, I just stamped a few flowers and leaves from the set around it using Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, and Soft Stone inks. I added the diecut "in" heart to finish the sentiment.
The insides were all stamped with the "thank you" sentiment from the set.

My next card uses the Paper Clippings die, but I snipped out the sentiment so I could just use the heart/flowers as a frame for a baby card. I cut it from watercolor paper and used reinkers to watercolor it.
Inside, I put a tag which was stamped with a sentiment from the stamps included in the Wee Folk mini kit, using Classic Kraft ink. The tag was cut using the Tremendous Tags dies. I added a small heart and some leaves using the Paper Clippings: Done In Love stamp set and Detail dies. Everything was layered over a panel of linen cardstock that was sponged with some Pale Peony ink and spritzed with water.

Next up I have a simple card using the Inspired: Prayer set. I used the Noted: A1 dies to cut the scalloped card base, then stamped it with a sentiment from the Inspired: Prayer set using Stormy Sea and Berry Sorbet inks.
The flower bouquet was stamped using the small bouquet from the Don't Forget to Write kit. I added a small strip of Pale Peony striped paper folded over the top edge for a finishing touch. Just a simple card that would be easy to drop in the mail to let someone know you're praying for them during a difficult time.

Lastly today I have another card using the Dress Up Dolls: Rainy Day set. This time I paired the rain gear with the boy from the Dress Up Dolls: Basics set to create a fun birthday card. I pulled out my Tiny Treats Valentine set which has this cute little frog, which works perfectly with the Dress Up Dolls. I stamped and colored two of the frogs then cut them out by hand. I placed one in his hand, and the other peeking out from behind his boots. Everything was colored with Copics.
The finished doll is is layered over a panel of watercolor paper, which was watercolored with some re-inkers. I added some diecut drops, which were cut using the Dress Up Dolls: Rainy Day dies. The sentiment is from the Boy Basics: Frog Hop set.

That's all from me today! I'll be sharing more projects using each of these sets in the next few days as we make our way through the countdown! If you'd like to see more today, Dawn is showcasing the new Paper Clippings set, and Melissa is featuring the Inspired: Prayer set.
See you back here tomorrow!
