Papertrey Ink May Release Wrap-up...
May 15, 2016
Today's the big day! All of the new products we've been showcasing over the past week will go up in the Papertrey Ink store tonight! The team is back again today to wrap up the countdown and bring you one last burst of inspiration.
All of the products mentioned as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning tonight -- 10pm Eastern on May 15th, from the Papertrey Ink website.
I just have a couple of projects left to share today. First up is a card that uses the new Keep It Simple: Bless the USA set paired up with the wreath and flowers from my Paper Clippings: Thinking of You stamp set. I created the flags by using one of the banner dies from the Make It Market Clipsters Mini kit, stamped with the striped image from Bitty Background Blocks II. The smaller banner layer is from the Paper Clippings: Thinking of You Detail dies, with a small star layered over the top, which was cut using the Shaker Shapes: Star die.
I attached my flags to a couple of toothpicks and nested them inside the wreath. A floral cluster created with the flowers from the Paper Clippings: Thinking of You set is arranged at the bottom of the stamped wreath. I tied a little baker's twine around one of the flags. I stamped the "happy 4th..." sentiment from the new Keep It Simple: Bless the USA set onto the stitched banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted die. I added a strip of Pure Poppy + White striped paper along the edge.

Up next is a card using Maile's Splits for this month - a fun sketchy flower this time around. I paired it with her previously released Sentiment Splits dies and Sentiment Splits stamp set. I started by stamping and diecutting the new Splits: Thank You label, then diecut it again using the Sentiment Splits Curved Vertical die to cut the label apart so I could put half on top and half on the bottom of the watercolor paper panels I also cut using the Sentiment Splits dies.
In between the two panels is a strip of watercolor paper that is stamped with the "best wishes" sentiment from the previously released Sentiment Splits set. After stamping the sentiment with waterproof ink, I spritzed it with some Goosebumps texture spray. After that dried, I watercolored over it with some Tropical Teal and New Leaf reinkers. I did the same thing on the background of the watercolor panels before adhering the flower label. I spritzed with the Goosebumps and watercolored with Harvest Gold and a bit of Limeade Ice reinkers. The texture spray resists the watercolor and leaves a kind of splotchy effect. Kind of cool! The whole thing was layered over a Raspberry Fizz card base.
Supplies not linked, but available for purchase beginning at 10pm Eastern on May 15th from Papertrey Ink: Splits: Thank You stamp set and coordinating die
I stamped and heat embossed the waves with white powder onto a panel of watercolor paper, then watercolored them using reinkers (tropical teal, new leaf, limeade ice, aqua mist, and enchanted evening). I had fun playing around with all of the pretty blues and greens mixed together. The sky was stenciled with the sun stencil from the Sun & Surf collection. The cloud diecuts are from the Blue Skies die collection. Of course the sentiment is from the new Inspired: Praise set.
