Sweet Inspirations...
March 12, 2016
It's time for the first group post for the Papertrey Ink Ink March countdown! We have some really "sweet" new goodies to reveal today!
Here's a list of the delicious new stamps and dies the team is creating with today...
Sprinkles on Top stamps & dies by Erin
Frosted Border dies by Erin
Big Birthday Candles dies by Erin
Just Desserts stamps & dies, and Sentiment stamps by Lizzie
All of these new products will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EST on March 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
Let's get on with the projects!
First up I have a card and treat box ensemble using the new Sprinkles on Top stamps and dies, the Frosted Border dies dies, and the Big Birthday Candles dies.
For the card, I started out by creating a "cake" on the lower portion of the card by using the Cover Plate Horizontal Stripes die, and placed one of the new Frosted Borders diecuts along the top and bottom edges. Then I used the Sprinkles on Top stamps and dies to add the colorful sprinkles. I heat embossed the sprinkles border with white powder, then colored it with my Zig pens and coated it with glitter.
For the top portion of the card, I sponged some Bright Buttercup ink and then stamped the streamers from Birthday Style. I used the "9" from the Big Birthday Candles dies and added the "th" using the Suffix Style dies. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the new Just Desserts set. I added a flame to the top of the candle, which is included in the Big Birthday Candles die collection. I added a few flowers and leaves from the Bloomin' Cute set.
For the favor box, I started with the Vintage Favor Box die as my base. I stamped the Sprinkled on Top borders on the sides and embossed and colored it in the same way I did for the card. I added some Frosted Borders along the top and bottom edges. On the top I glued some faux sprinkles from the Shakers & Sprinkles kit. I topped it off with a 9 using the new candle dies. I simply cut a slit in the top of the box and slipped the base of the "candle" in the slit. I added a few of those same little flowers from Bloomin' Cute.

Next I have a card using Lizzie's adorable new Just Desserts set. This is just so fun! The set has a bit of a vintage vibe to it, so I decided to pair it with one of the patterned papers from the Nostalgic Notions paper pad. The open space on this paper was the perfect place to put one of the cute cakes from this set, and made for a quick and easy card.
I stamped the layers of the cake with Lemon Tart ink (kind of makes me hungry for lemon cake!!), with the edges rolled in a bit of Harvest Gold ink to give a little depth. I heat embossed the frosting portion with white embossing powder to give it a realistic texture and dimension. There are several different things you can embellish your cakes with...I chose to use the cute daisy cluster. I topped it off with the candles from the set, and placed it on one of the previously released Cake Plates dies. I stamped the "sweet birthday wishes" sentiment from the Just Desserts set along the bottom.
