More What the Doodle: Feather, Bloomin' Cute, and Inspired: Lord...
March 11, 2016
It's Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink Ink March countdown! I'm back to share a few more projects using some of my new sets coming out this month.
All of these new stamps, dies, and papers will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EST on March 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
First is a project using Inspired: Lord and Bloomin' Cute. I started by putting a sentiment onto a panel of Dark Chocolate cardstock. I stamped and heat embossed the first and last part of the sentiment with white embossing powder and used the Inspired: Lord die to fill in the center.
Then I filled in the bottom portion of the panel with a variety of leaves and flowers from the Bloomin' Cute set. For something a little different I left a bit of space between all of the elements rather than layering them into a cluster. Not sure it was entirely successful, lol, but kind of fun. :-)

For my next card, I thought it might be fun to play around with combining last month's Inspired: Savior with this month's Lord set. I haven't played around with the chalkboard look for awhile, and I thought that might be perfect for this idea. I started with a panel of Smokey Shadow cardstock and the Cover Plate: Pretty Frame die. Inside the frame, I put a "Lord" and "Savior" diecuts, along with an ampersand from the Grand Ampersand die collection. I sponged each one with a bit of ink...Sweet Blush, Mint Julep, and Aqua Mist.
Before adhering them, I stamped one of the flourishes from Erin's new Fancy Pants Sentiments set in the area where the Ampersand would go. It's not a perfect fit like it is for the sentiment that's meant to go inside, but I think it works. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder. I also stamped and embossed the "you have the...of the world on your side" sentiments from last month's Inspired: Savior set. Then I adhered all of the diecuts. I added some details using a white pencil and ruler, and also traced around the diecuts with the white pencil to give a shaded effect. I added a couple of little flowers and leaves from the Bloomin' Cute set as an accent.

Next I have a couple of What the Doodle: Feather cards. This first one uses the large, open feather dies. I stamped on them and heat embossed the images with white embossing powder, then colored them with my Zig Clean Color pens. I backed them with the solid feather dies, sponged with a bit of coordinating ink.
I tied them together with some cotton twine and layered them over a panel of watercolor paper, which I had added some color to, using my Zig pens again. I also heat embossed a few of the small feathers. The sentiment is also from the What the Doodle: Feather set.

My next card uses the solid feather dies along with the two different sizes of detailed feather images from the set. I colored them with my Copics and layered them over a background that was sponged with inks and a bit of stenciling. I diecut the feathers from scrap paper and layered them over the background to act as a mask before sponging and stenciling the background.
I added a few of the small solid feathers and some sequins to the background too. The sentiment is from the Bloomin' Cute stamp set and the Bloomin' Cute Sentiments dies.

Well, that wraps up my projects for today! I'll be back tomorrow with a fun group post. Hope to see you then!
