Fancy Folk Art Revisited...
More What the Doodle: Feather, Bloomin' Cute, and Inspired: Lord...

Introducing Fancy Pants Sentiments...and a whole lot more!

Welcome to the Papertrey Ink Ink March countdown!  Have you recovered from the big February bash?  I'm still trying to catch my breath, to be honest!  :-)  But here we are, ready to kick off the March countdown.  I have SO much to show you today.  Lots of my March sets are being revealed today, along with an awesome new sentiment set by Erin.  Here's a quick run down on what I'm showing in today's post...

Fancy Pants Sentiments stamps, dies, and coloring sheets - (this the new set by Erin!)

Bloomin' Cute - a new floral set from me, filled with all sorts of fun blooms and foliage with a sort of sweet, cutesy look that I think is kind of fresh and fun.

Inspired: Lord stamps and dies - the next installment in the monthly Inspired series.

What the Doodle: Feather stamps, dies, coloring and watercolor sheets!

All of these new stamps, dies, and papers will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EST on March 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.

Let's get on with the projects!  First I want to show you some things using Erin's new Fancy Pants Sentiment set.  This first colorful birthday card uses the birthday sentiment from the set.  The words and flourishes are separate stamps so that you can use different ink colors, but I kept it all black here so that I could do some watercoloring with my Zig pens in the background.  The coordinating dies cut around the pretty flourishes for a more solid backing for the sentiment.

Birthday-stars

I added some watercolored stars around the sentiment, which were cut using my new Paper Clippings dies this month, which you'll see more of in a few days!  I layered everything over a Scene It: Scalloped Tag base and a Stitched rectangle.  The stitched rectangle was cut from Aqua Mist cardstock and then sponged with some Hawaiian Shores ink. The banners slipped through the tag die are from the Jar Bonnet die set.

My next card uses the "Thanks so much" sentiment and coordinating die from the Fancy Pants set, paired with a bunch of floral elements from my new Bloomin' Cute set.  Just a fun and happy combo.  The sentiment was stamped in Hibiscus Burst ink with a bit of Pure Poppy sponged along the bottom.  The flourishes were stamped in Aqua Mist.

I diecut all of the different flowers and leaves from the Bloomin' Cute set and then set to work creating this floral cluster.  I did not use all of the different blooms and leaves (this set is FULL of all sorts of different images!), but just kept adding until I was happy with the arrangement.  Oh, and before attaching everything I added just a bit of watercoloring with my Zig pens.  All of the different leaves and flowers in the Bloomin' Cute set just make me happy!  So fun to mix and match and build cute bouquets.  And I should mention that some of the leaves are stamped in a new color!  It's called Green Parakeet and it's just the perfect bright green...love it!

My next card uses the Fancy Pants coloring sheets that are also being released this month, designed by Erin.  There are several different sentiments printed on the A2 sheets, sized larger than the sentiments in the stamp set.  The outlines are done in gray so that you can get a sort of "fade away" coloring effect.  Here I used my Zig pens to color the sentiment.

After coloring the sentiment and flourishes, I sponged some Aqua Mist ink around the edges and framed it with the scalloped frame from the Cover Plate: Pretty Frame die.  I used a few different blooms and leaves from the Bloomin' Cute set clustered in the lower corner.

I'll share a few more projects today - one using each of my new sets being revealed today, but I'll save the rest for tomorrow.  Can't show you everything on Day 1, can I???

This next card uses just the Bloomin' Cute set.  There are three large sentiments included in the stamp set -- Hello, Thanks, and Enjoy.  We are also releasing these sentiments in their own die collection, separate from the flower dies.  Here I used the "hello" die along with the "friend" sentiment from the set and a handful of cute blooms.

Bloom-friend

I started by stamping some of the leaves and flowers from the Bloomin' Cute set onto a Bright Buttercup panel using Summer Sunrise and a bit of Orange Zest (for the small flowers).  The diecut floral cluster was stamped in Bright Buttercup, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewel, Tropical Teal, and Pure Poppy.  I diecut the "hello" sentiment three times from cardstock and stacked them up.  I added a strip of Bright Buttercup striped paper along the bottom edge.  I loved this happy, quirky color combo, which was inspired by this print.

My next card uses the next installment of the Inspired series.  This month's word is "Lord".  There is a $5 stamp set featuring the word "Lord", along with some companion sentiments, and then of course there is the Lord die as well.  This card is super simple and came together very quickly.

Trust-heart

I used a Stitched Rectangle die, cute from Hibiscus cardstock and sponged with some Raspberry Fizz ink along the bottom.  Then I stamped the "Trust....with all your heart" sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder.  I added the diecut "Lord" and tied a tiny heart tag from the flourish under the sentiment, which was cut from Luxe Gold cardstock. That die was part of last year's Stamp-a-Fair kit -- the Tinier Tags dies.  I layered everything over a panel of Luxe Gold Foil polka dot paper.

My last card for today uses this month's installment of What the Doodle.   This month's doodle is a fun feather.  There are large and small doodled feathers, along with a few small solid feathers.  There are both detailed and solid dies for the largest feather, and solid dies for the other three. Here I used the detail die, stamped with the largest feather, layered over the solid feather die.  I tied a couple of them together with some cotton twine, and also tucked in a few of the smaller solid feathers.

The feather cluster is layered over one of the prints found in the What the Doodle: Feather coloring sheets, which I colored with a combination of my Zig pens and Copics.  This was a fun one to color!  When I was finished I trimmed the colored panel in half, so I'll have enough for two cards.  I added the "enjoy" sentiment along the bottom, cut using the new Bloomin' Cute Sentiments dies.  Along the sides I added some strips of Bright Buttercup cardstock, cut with the Pinking Shears border die.  I love how it has a bright, tribal feel!
