Fancy Folk Art Revisited...

Today the Papertrey Ink Sr Team is back for another revisit.  Each month on the 1st, we pull out an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration.  This month's feature is Fancy Folk Art.  It's a beautiful set that has a Scandinavian flair, which you might know by now, I always have a soft spot for!

Fancy Folk Art

I created a couple of new projects using the Fancy Folk Art set.  My first card uses the beautiful medallion image and coordinating die from the set.  I diecut it from watercolor paper and then stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder.  Then I used my Clean Color markers to watercolor the image.  This is a fun one to color for sure!

I kept the rest of the card very simple so the main image could really take center stage.  I adhered the medallion to a panel of linen cardstock using foam adhesive, then stamped the birthday sentiment from the Fancy Folk Art set underneath.  I added a few simple leaves from the set in each corner, stamped in Pure Poppy ink.  The whole works was attached to fresh green cardstock base made from New Leaf cardstock.

My second card features a different sort of medallion -- one I created by stamping several of the individual flowers found in the set.  I really enjoy this sort of stamping and did a Make It Monday video on it a while back, which you can see here.  I like how there are individual stamps for adding color to all of the little details on the flowers, it makes it really fun to play around with different color combinations.

I layered a panel of Spring Rain cardstock over my stamped medallion by cutting the scalloped circle using the Scene It: Basic Backer die.  I also stamped the Spring Rain panel with the medallion used on the first card to create a pretty tone-on-tone floral pattern for a subtle background.  The "thanks" sentiment from the set was heat embossed with white powder.  I also added just a bit of shading to the flowers using my Clean Color pens.
