New Products for Spring & Egg Hunt!

Today is a group post sharing lots of new products for spring. It is also the annual scavenger hunt and the photo above is the one to look at to see how many egg icons are hidden here. You can click the photo to see it larger.  You can visit Nichole's blog for all of the details on the scavenger hunt contest and how you can enter to win some big prizes!

Welcome to Day 7 of the big 10 day Papertrey Ink Anniversary party!  We have some fun new products for spring to reveal today. All of the new products shown today will be available for purchase when all of the new stuff goes up on the website at 10pm EST on February 15.

Let's just get straight to the projects.  Nichole challenged us to create an Easter wrap or treat and a card for today's post featuring some of these new spring goodies.  There's a new set coming your way by Lizzie called Simply Spring Borders and it has the most adorable bunny images.  I wanted to try and give them a little Easter cottage.  You know the old nursery rhyme..."The old woman who lived in the shoe...", well that kind of inspired this project.  I wanted a bunch of those cute bunnies to live in an Easter basket house.

I started off with a new Cover Plate die being released this month - Cover Plate: Basket.  The die cuts a frame around the basket, but I wanted to just use the basket portion, so I trimmed the frame away with a few snips.  I cut two of them this way and attached them to the Tiny Town: Basics structure.  I didn't want to attach the optional handle to the top of the house, so I tucked the roof flaps in and secured it closed by tying a ribbon around it before attaching the baskets.

I cut the church windows from sides of the house because they are a little larger than the windows from the Basics set.  This allowed some of the cute little bunny faces to peek out through the openings.  I used the new Easter Grass die along the bottom.  To make it a bit shorter than it actually is, I layered two of them, then put a line of Scor-Tape on the backside at the height I wanted the grass to be so all of the individual blades of grass would stay together when I trimmed off the bottom.

I tucked one of those cute bunnies in between the roof flaps too.  He's so cute!  The front of the basket was embellished with a new die called Shaped Sayings: Easter.  I backed it with a Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" circle sponged with Sweet Blush ink.  I tucked several of those little bunnies in the diecut too.

My next project is a card using a few more of the new Spring-themed products.  This uses a new set by Heather called Bunny Basket.  The cute and simple bunny image reminds me so much of those marshmallow bunny Peeps that I just had to make a card dedicated to their sugary, marshmallow-y goodness.  :-)

I diecut and stamped two of those bunnies in Hibiscus Burst and the new Bright Buttercup inks, then ran them through my Xyron upside down to make them sticky so I could coat them with glitter.  I adhered them to a panel of Linen cardstock, sponged with Aqua Mist ink, and clustered some small flowers around them (from the Paper Clippings: Happy Day set).  For the sentiment I stamped the "happy Easter" from the Bunny Basket set in Smokey Shadow ink, then used a pen to draw a comma by hand.  The "peeps" was made with diecuts from the Script Alphabet die sets.  I framed it all with the perfect scalloped frame from the new Cover Plate: Pretty Frame die.  That one is going to get a ton of use around here.
