Introducing Winter Woods...
November 12, 2015
Welcome to the first group post of the Papertrey Ink November countdown! We have some pretty exciting stuff to show you today.
Introducing Winter Woods...a gorgeous new stamp and die collection, as well as a coordinating paper pad. This set features three different 2-step birds, some pretty birch trees, and more, all illustrated in a fun, modern style. Nichole did such a beautiful job on this collection and it was a joy to create with.
All of the new Winter Woods goodies will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EST on the Papertrey Ink website.
Let me show you my projects using the Winter Woods collection (I snuck a little Phrases & Praises in there too!). First up is a card that uses the cardinal from the Winter Woods set to create a wintery thank you. I started off with a panel of watercolor paper and stamped the branch/greenery with Aqua Mist ink and used a waterbrush to blur the image and also add a bit of Aqua Mist watercoloring to the background.
Then I diecut and stamped the large branch, and again used my water brush to blend. I adhered this over my watercolor panel and also added that pretty stamped cardinal. I added some snowflakes to the background as well, which are from Dawn's new Fab Flakes set. The sentiment is from Phrases & Praises and is stamped in Stormy Sea ink. I stamped some falling snow using a stamp from the Winter Woods set and Soft Stone ink. I added some glitter snow paint to the branches for a finishing touch.
I finished off the inside with some of the same elements and the rest of the sentiment from the Phrases & Praises set. The thank you is from Keep it Simple: Thank You.

My next project uses the bluejay image from the Winter Woods set, along with the previously released Leaf Silhouettes dies. I think they are so fun together!
I diecut the leaves from linen cardstock and then sponged the different sections with ink and stamped a bit of texture using the Sketched Shapes set. I diecut some of the branches from Winter Woods from kraft cardstock and arranged them with the leaves on a panel of paper from the Winter Woods paper collection. I perched the pretty bluejay from Winter Woods on one of the branches. The birthday sentiment is one of the sentiments included in the Winter Woods set.
My last card today uses a panel of the pretty birch paper from the Winter Woods paper collection along with a sentiment from Phrases & Praises. I thought they would be pretty paired together along with the birds from the Wee Folk kit.
This card was super quick and easy. I just stamped the sentiment using Stormy Sea ink and diecut the birds using the Wee Folk dies, then stamped them with Berry Sorbet ink and popped them up with some foam dots.
