Introducing Quilted: Winter and Tag Sale: Quilted die...
October 11, 2015
It's day two of the October Papertrey Ink countdown and today I get to tell you all about the last set in the Quilted series -- Quilted: Winter. This set features a fun snowflake quilt block die, along with a coordinating stamp set that will allow you to stamp the quilt pieces with all sorts of different patterns. There are lots of other fun elements in the stamp set too, including a pretty snowflake cluster and some fun multi-step snowflakes.
The Quilted: Winter stamps and dies, along with anything else mentioned as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on October 15th from Papertrey Ink.
This first card shows the Quilted: Winter die all done up in plaids from my new Holiday Plaid patterned paper collection. It was fun to mix and match all of these colorful plaid prints!
I didn't fill in the diecut pieces around the outer edge of the snowflake, I just left them open so you could see the pretty snowflakes stamped underneath. This is the two-step snowflake cluster from the Quilted: Winter stamp set. I stamped it in Pure Poppy and New Leaf inks. The sentiment is also from Quilted: Winter. The "wrapped in the warmth..." sentiment was stamped onto the banner from the new Tag Sale: Quilted die that's also being released this month.

Up next is a cool, wintery card and tag set. This set uses the new Tag Sale: Quilted die I mentioned above. It's a pretty new tag die that coordinates perfectly with all of the quilt blocks in the Quilted series. It's great for cards as well as tags.
The snowflake quilt block here was done up in cool wintery colors - Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Aqua Mist, and Tropical Teal. I'm the proud new owner of a Misti, and it made stamping the quilt block pieces so quick and easy. I takes a few minutes to get it all set up, but it makes it super quick to stamp several of the pieces at one time. I sponged a gradient inks in the background, fading from Spring Rain to Blueberry Sky, to Tropical teal. I stamped the snowflake cluster from Quilted: Winter over the sponged inks using Fresh Snow ink.
Here's a close-up of the tag...I love those colors together!
And here's the inside of the card, with more sponging and white stamped snowflakes. Part of the sentiment is stamped on the front of the card, and the remainder is stamped inside.

Next I have another card and tag set, this one done up in Pure Poppy and Soft Stone.
This time I backed the quilt block with some Pure Poppy cardstock. I topped off the center of the snowflake with one of the single snowflakes from the stamp set. This is a multi-step image - you can see the main snowflake portion was stamped in Soft Stone, and the striped detail was stamped in Pure Poppy. In the background is a red and gray plaid from the new Holiday Plaid paper collection, along with some pretty borders, stamped with the new Faire Isle Borders set. The sentiment at the bottom is from Quilted: Winter.
Here's another view of the tag, again using the new Tag Sale: Quilted die. The "wrapped in the warmth of the season" sentiment is perfect for attaching to a gift!

Next is a very different take on the Quilted: Winter die, and probably my favorite card from today's post! I took two Quilted: Winter quilt block diecuts and stacked them on top of eachother, turning one of them so they create this really intricate design, which almost looks like string art, don't you think?
Before adhering the blocks I sponged some Orange Zest and Raspberry Fizz inks onto a panel of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock. I also stamped a few of the large brushstroke images from the Watercolor Wonder set. I used my waterbrush to flick a few drops of water onto the ink to create some cool water spots. I stamped the "let it snow" sentiment from the Christmas Cheer stamp set and added a few smaller snowflakes from the Quilted: Winter set.

Up next is a bright and colorful version of the snowflake. This time I trimmed the snowflake away from the outer square frame for a different look. Pretty easy to do with a few snips.
I diecut the quilt pieces from a rainbow of cardstock colors and stamped the pieces with all of the different patterns from the stamp set, then popped them up with foam. I stamped some of the smaller snowflakes and stitched flourishes from the Quilted: Winter stamp set to finish it off.

My last card for today uses Quilted: Winter, but just the snowflake stamps instead of the quilt block. The snowflake cluster makes super quick and easy background - I love how that turns out! I stamped the cluster several times onto Hibiscus Burst cardstock using Pure Poppy ink.
The multi-step snowflakes were done in Pure Poppy, Vintage Jadeite, and Hibiscus Burst inks. That gorgeous sentiment is from Christmas Cheer.
