Flower Favorites Revisited...

Happy September!  It's once again the first of the month, and that means it's time for a Papertrey Ink Sr Team challenge.  Each month we dust off an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration.  This month we're visiting a relatively new set that didn't get a whole lot of exposure during its release due to a family emergency situation Nichole was dealing with.  So, we're bringing back the Flower Favorites set today for a little more love.

I have two cards today, both with a very different look...this set is very versatile!  First up is a card where I did some ombre ink blending in the background, along with inking up those pretty lupine images with an assortment of the same pink inks.

I used Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, and Raspberry Fizz inks, blended on a panel of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock.  I diecut the lupines from the same linen cardstock and inked up the lupine stamps using the same pink inks, just reversing the order from those in the background, kind of inspired by my Runway Challenge card from SAF, which you can see HERE

My next card has a very different look, I kind of went a little more vintage.  Daisies just do that to me.  :-)  I paired the daisies from the Flower Favorites set with a few Nostalgic Notions patterned papers.

I diecut the daisies from Spring Rain cardstock and then played around with some embossing powders.  I stamped the leaves first, using Versamark, then coated them with green embossing powder.  I then stamped the blooms and sprinkled with white embossing powder.  I heated that up and then stamped the flower centers and sprinkled that with yellow embossing powder and heated again.  Kind of a fun experiment!  Of course I had to add a few of those cute little lady bugs from the Flower Favorites set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to hop around to the other Sr Team girls to see what new things they've whipped up using the Flower Favorites set...
