SAF 2015: Runway Inspired Challenge...

Saf2015-logo

Are you all still hanging in there?  So much fun stuff today!  This will be my last post for the day.  This hour's challenge is the Runway Inspired challenge.  Nichole challenged us to find some inspiration from the runway for this project.  Wow, there are some incredible things out there...some of the fashions are really more works of art than anything.

Out of all of the elaborate things out there, I chose something that's actually very simple. I was inspired by the way the print on the dress transitions from a white floral on a blue background at the top to a blue floral on a white background on the bottom.  So cool!  I decided I wanted to try to create a similar effect using some ink blending.

I started out with two panels of Linen cardstock and sponged Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, and Enchanted Evening inks.  I used one of the panels as my base.  From the other I diecut two branches using the new Branching Out die.

When I adhered the branches to the background panel I flipped them so that the white portion was against the blue and vice versa.  Kind of a fun effect.  I stamped a sentiment from Brushed Blooms using Enchanted Evening ink.

I hope you had a great day and were able to play along with at least a few of the challenges!
