Weather Trends and more Morning by Morning...
July 12, 2015
Welcome to the first group post for the Papertrey Ink July countdown! Today the team is featuring all sorts of new weather themed products. In case you haven't noticed, rain or shine, weather is IN!
I also have a few more Morning by Morning projects at the end of this post, so stay tuned for that.
All of the products mentioned as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10 EDT on the Papertrey Ink website.
So...the projects...
First up is a card using some new stamps and dies by Maile called So Striking. Such fun! I used the clouds and lightning bolts to create this striking birthday card.
I started off with a panel of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock and sponged it with Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, and Spring Rain inks until I had a deep, dark sky. Then I stamped the "rain" using silver ink. I added the diecut clouds and lightening bolts, which were stamped with Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest inks. A sentiment from the set was heat embossed at an angle, along with a diecut word from the coordinating die collection. A spattering of Rainstones finishes it off.

So the first card was my "rainy" card...now how about a little sunshine? Up next is a card made with Dawn's new Enclosed: Sunshine and Tucked In: Thinking of You sets. I diecut the Enclosed: Sunshine sun/shine from white cardstock and sponged some ink onto the "shine" portion. I backed this with the coordinating die, cut from Summer Sunrise cardstock, and a white circle, sponged with a bit of Aqua Mist ink.
I trimmed the sun in half, just under the word shine, and adhered a partial panel of the Cover Plate: Blue Skies die, turned upside down. On this I stamped one of the sentiments from Dawn's new Tucked In: Thinking of You set, heat embossed with white powder. A bit of black baker's twine adds just the right finishing touch.

Up next I have a few Morning by Morning cards. This first one combines the morning glories with the corner element from the Nostalgic Notions kit, which works perfectly as a little trellis for the morning glories to wrap themselves around.
I stamped the "morning by morning new mercies I see" sentiment from the set with Raspberry Fizz ink. I cut apart the corner element in the bottom corner so I could rearrange it around my sentiment a bit...kind of like how that turned out!

Up next is a super simple one layer card using Morning by Morning. I stamped the blooms in Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz inks and the greenery in Spring Moss and New Leaf inks, then sponged some Aqua Mist ink onto the background.
The sentiment from the set was stamped with Classic Kraft ink. The finished panel was adhered to a Hibiscus Burst card base.
