Vintage Linens...

Welcome to yet another group post for the Papertrey Ink July countdown!  Today the team is featuring a beautiful new collection by Dawn called Vintage Linens.  This collection includes stamps, dies, and coordinating patterned papers.  We are also featuring another new stamp set that goes perfectly with this collection, called Embroidered Borders, which also has coordinating dies.

All of these new products will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website beginning at 10 EDT on July 15.

Let me show you a few projects I made with this new products.  Nichole challenged us to find an inspiration piece to use as a jumping off point for today's projects.  I found this fun framed pieces using a vintage linen which has been embroidered and placed in a hoop.

This artwork made me instantly think of the Quick Stitch Sentiment dies, so I incorporated them into this card, along with the pretty blooms from the new Vintage Linens set.

I stamped the circle border from the Embroidered Borders set and turned it 45 degrees to create the pointed element, almost like a vintage hankie.  I diecut the scalloped rectangle from the Nostalgic Notions kit and used it as a mask to apply some Hawaiian Shores ink along the top edge.  The "wishing you...on your birthday" sentiments are from the Garden Gild kit.  The pretty floral paper is from the new Vintage Linens paper pad.

My second card is a simpler, one layer card, but it packs a lot of punch.  I used the same scalloped rectangle diecut from the Nostalgic Notions kit as a mask.  I turned it at an angle and sponged Hawaiian Shores ink onto the bottom portion of the card.

After I was finished inking, I stamped the three blooms from Vintage Linens using Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy inks and the rock 'n roll technique to add shading.  I then used the coordinating dies (cut from scrap paper) as a mask, laying the diecuts over the coordinating flowers.  This made it easy to stamp the leaves and get a lot of dimension, while still keeping everything clean looking.  The leaves were inked with Spring Moss, with the edges rolled in a bit of New Leaf.  I also added some tiny flowers from Graceful Greetings, stamped with Hawaiian Shores, to fill in a few gaps and add a little more interest.  A sentiment from Vintage Linens finishes it off.
