More Birthday Inspiration...

Welcome to the second group post for the Papertrey Ink June countdown!  Today the team is showcasing all kinds of birthday projects using a whole line up of new birthday stamps and dies being released this month.  I also have a couple more Stacked Statements and Petite Places: Happy Camper projects at the bottom of this post

I got to use Dawn's adorable new Enclosed: Cupcake stamps and dies for my birthday projects today.  Nichole challenged us to find an inspiration piece to kickstart our projects and I found this beautiful watercolor art piece...

I created a little birthday ensemble inspired by that beautiful artwork.  I started off by "smooshing" some watercolor onto a piece of watercolor paper - one piece done in pinks/yellows for the cupcake top and one done in yellow/orange for the base.  After they were dry I diecut them with the Enclosed: Cupcake dies and stamped them with the coordinating images from the Enclosed: Cupcake set.  I assembled the cupcake and topped it off with the top cupcake layer with the "celebrate" attached to it.

I love the look of the pretty flowers paired with the cupcake/kitchen images in the inspiration piece so I pulled out my Graceful Greetings set and added some stamped flowers to the corners.  The freestyle script writing on the painting prompted me to add a pretty sentiment from Dawn's new Scripted set, stamped in True Black ink.

The next piece in my birthday ensemble is an adorable cupcake box.  This new Favor It: Cupcake die by Lizzie is just the cutest thing ever!  I diecut it from Rustic White cardstock to match my card and then sponged Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold inks.  I used a simple masking technique with sticky notes to stamp the cupcake liner lines from the Enclosed: Cupcake set onto each section of the box before assembling it. Once I had it closed up I added the cherry on top from Enclosed: Cupcake and tied a bit of black baker's twine around it.

The last piece in the ensemble is a fun party hat using the new Party Hat and Party Hat Trims dies.  I diecut the main portion of the hat from Hibiscus Burst polka dot paper.  For the fringe I diecut 6 layers or orange tissue paper (three layers at a time) and stacked them together along with the scalloped trim from the Party Hat Trims set and stitched through them to easily attach all of the layers.

The hat is embellished with a 1 3/4" Limitless Layers Circle trimmed with a round fringe die, also in the Party Hat Trims die collection.  The "birthday girl" sentiment and stars were diecut with some of the dies included in the Party Hat die set.

What fun new birthday goodies, don't you think?  If you'd like to see more, be sure to hop around to the other DT girls.  There are several different sets of products being featured by different team members, so you don't want to miss a single one!  All of these new products will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm EDT from the Papertrey Ink store.

Before I go, I have a few more projects using my new sets for June.  First, how about a fun Petite Places: Happy Camper project?  I used the little camper to create a welcome to the neighborhood card.  I started off with the Blue Skies Cover Plate die cut from white cardstock and stamped some clouds from the Blue Skies set.  Along the bottom I parked three little campers.

Notice the little "wings" on the camper?  That's a little detail I haven't shown yet!  I diecut the wings from Luxe Silver cardstock and added them to each camper, along with the tiny buntings.  I want to live in that neighborhood, don't you?  :-) The sentiment is from the Home Made set.

My last project for today is a card using Stacked Statements.  I've been itching to pair it with the Make It Market Wee Folk mini kit...I think the designs on the letters match up perfectly with the designs on the little animals in that set.  I stamped the "praying for you" sentiment from the new Keep It Simple: Praying for You set being released this month, curving it into a nice arc on my block before stamping.

I added the diecut and stamped "today" sentiment from Stacked Statements and the "and every day" sentiment, also from that set.  I added the wreath and birds from the Wee Folk set.  A little strip of paper from the Watercolor Wonder paper pad.

That's all for today - see you back here again tomorrow!
