June Release Wrap Up...

Big Balloon Ideas...

It's time for one more group post for the Papertrey Ink June countdown.  Today's theme?  Balloons!  Gotta love balloons, right?  They just scream party time.  This whole June release feels like a party.

I've been keeping a little secret throughout the countdown (I love secrets)...there's a new Shaker Shape die set being released this month!  Today I'm excited to introduce the Shaker Shapes: Balloon die collection.  There are some other fun balloon themed items designed by the other girls too...let me show you a few of them in action.

Up first is a card using the Shaker Shapes Balloon dies.  There's not a single bit of stamping on this card, which is very strange for me!  I diecut several of the solid balloon shape from cardstock and vellum using the new Shaker Shapes: Balloon dies.  I adhered the cardstock balloons to may card base, but before attaching the vellum balloons I added a little pile of confetti, which was also cut using the Shaker Shapes: Balloon dies.

I layered the vellum balloons over the confetti, working with one at a time, and stitched around the edges.  I love vellum, but it can be tricky to figure out how to attach it without the adhesive looking all icky.  The stitching solved that problem as well as keeping the confetti corralled inside the balloons.  The "hooray" sentiment and the strings and everything are all included in the Shaker Shapes: Balloon die collection.

Up next I used the Shaker Shapes balloon die to create a more traditional style shaker card.  I paired the shaker dies with Lizzie's awesome new Hooray stamp set and patterned papers.  I filled my shaker with confetti cut with the balloon shaker dies.  The sentiment stamped inside the balloon is from the Hooray set.

I added a bit of gold confetti around the outside, which was cut from Luxe Gold with the Shaker Shapes: Balloon die, as well as the strings, cut from True Black cardstock.

My last card today is a little off the wall, but super fun.  :-)  I couldn't get this idea out of my head and just had to give it a try...ever have that?  I wanted to float the little Petite Places: Camper with a bunch of balloons, inspired by the move UP.  I used a new set of dies coming your way this month called Balloon Strings.  Perfect for this sort of thing...and you know what?  The little loop at the end of the triple cluster of strings fits perfectly around the camper!  It was meant to be. :-)

I stamped the balloon from the Party Pops kit several times directly onto my cardstock panel, and then layered a couple of diecut balloons over that, attached to the Balloon Strings diecut.  I stamped the other balloon strings using the strings in the Party Pops stamp set.  At the bottom I stamped a sentiment from the Up, Up, and Away set, and also stamped some clouds from that set.  Along the bottom I added some Scene It: Mountain View diecuts.  I just trimmed off the bottom circular portion of the die so I could line them up along the bottom edge of my card.
