Papertrey Ink April Release In Review...

Well, we've come to the end of yet another countdown!  I hope you enjoyed the last five days worth of posts and projects as much as I enjoyed creating them.  Tonight's the big night when all of the new goodies will go up in the store, as of 10pm EST.  Happy shopping!

I have just a couple of projects left to share today.  I kind of love both of them and they were both super quick and easy.

First up is a card using the new Flower Favorites set.  I'm excited about this pretty iris stamp.  I don't have any irises in my collection...and this one is just gorgeous.  I had fun stamping them in a whole array of colors.

Here are the color combos I used... Melon Berry + Canyon Clay, Harvest Gold + Summer Sunrise, Winter Wisteria + Royal Velvet, Hibiscus Burst + Raspberry Fizz.  I added a few butterflies, also from the Flower Favorites set and the pretty "hello" sentiment which is from my new Graceful Greetings set.

Up next is a card that uses a few new sets...Enclosed: Apple, Keep It Simple: Teacher, and Tucked In: Thank You.  I did a little watercolor smooshing on the apple (I haven't done much smooshing this release, so you had to know it was going to make an appearance today, right?  :-) )  I started with some watercolor paper and then smooshed some Pure Poppy and Limeade Ice ink.  Then I diecut the solid apple shape from the Enclosed: Apple die set from my watercolor paper.  I positioned it so that the shading of the apple looks pretty realistic!

I stamped the little shine/curve on the upper right side of the apple using Pure Poppy ink.  I diecut the "thanks" apple from watercolor paper and layered it over the top of my colored apple.  I added the stem and leaf.  Before adhering my assembled apple to my card base, I added a bit of color to the bottom of the panel using Aqua Mist ink and the smooshing technique.  Once that was dry I stamped the "for a special teacher" sentiment using Ocean Tides ink.

On the inside I added a sentiment from the Tucked In: Thanks set.  I also added some Aqua Mist watercolor along the bottom.
