Introducing Pencil Me In...
April 12, 2015
It's time for the first group post of the April Papertrey Ink countdown! Today we're showcasing a fun line-up of products, all geared around pencils (and more)! Who doesn't love new pencils?
There are lots of new products being shown today, including a new stamp set called Pencil Me In, by Lexi Daly. This set also has some companion products -- a paper pad and some fun adhesive pencil wraps, as well as a companion $5 stamp set called Pencilgrams, which will allow you to add monograms or other little details to the pencil wraps.
We're also showcasing some new stitching dies by Erin - the Pencil Pouch & Trim dies.
I have some new dies that are being previewed today as well, called Write Stuff Holders. They're just like the paintbrush holder die that was included in the Make It Market: Masterpiece kit, but this time it's a set of two - one will fit a pencil, and the other a crayon.
Oh, and one more new die set to show today called Moments Inked: Edged. It's a set of two border dies that will allow you to add binding holes or a perforated edge to just about anything your heart desires.
All of these new products will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website, beginning at 10pm EST on April 15, 2015.
Ok, enough talk, let's have some projects.
First is an ensemble that uses the new Pencil Me In stamp set, pencil papers, and the new Pencil Pouch stitching dies.
First let's look at that cute pencil pouch. Erin is so clever! This little cutie goes together very quickly and easily. There are some different closure options, which Erin and the rest of the team will be showing. I chose to use the small Basic Grey magnetic discs, which fit perfectly inside the little stitched circles and hold the whole thing closed. It's attached to an elastic band so it can be slipped around a notebook or planner. I just used some elastic lace, which we had in our stash from our doll clothes sewing adventures.
Inside are some pencils which I dressed up using the new Pencil Me In Adhesive Labels. These are so quick and easy! There is a spot for stamping on the end so you can add a monogram using the Pencilgrams stamp set, or I added a tiny diecut letter using my new Shaker Shapes: Pencil die.
For the coordinating card I simply stamped a whole bunch of pencils using the images in the Pencil Me In set. I added an actual pencil to my card by diecutting some slits using the Write Stuff Holders pencil die. I also added a stamped sentiment from the Pencil Me In set. The little diecut scribble is from the Shaker Shapes: Pencil die.

Up next I wanted to show you a little more of the Write Stuff Holders dies. I created a couple of notebooks which were constructed very simply using the new Moments Inked: Edged dies and some spriral binding. I used some the Maile's new Black & White All Over papers on the front covers, stamped with the word "create" using the Wet Paint Alphabet set, some flowers from Doodlie-do, and some brushstrokes from Watercolor Wonder.
The notebooks are filled with blank pages, but you could easily stamp images on them if you wanted to make it into more or a coloring book. The back covers of the notebooks are filled with colored pencils and crayons. I just used the Write Stuff Holder dies cut several times in a row. The shorter, oblong notebook has crayons...
And the taller, narrower notebook has colored pencils. This was a fun and easy project and my girls already snatched them up!
