With All My Heart Revisited...
February 01, 2015
February is coming in with a wintery roar here! February is sort of a blah month, don't you think? Good thing we'll have lots of fun Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities to make this dark mid-winter month a little brighter! While you wait for the festivities to begin, we're here today for the monthly Sr Team challenge where we pull out an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration.
This month we're featuring With All My Heart...
What a great set - for Valentine's Day and beyond. I have two projects to share with you today using the With All My Heart set. First up is a bright and colorful watercolor-y card. I'm a huge fan of Laura Bassen's "smoosh" method (not to mention every other awesome thing she does!). It's such a fun and easy way to create watercolor backgrounds. I just pressed my ink pads onto a piece of acetate, spritzed a little water, then pressed my cardstock into the whole mess before I did any of my stamping.
Once my cardstock was dry (I used my heat gun to help it along cuz I'm impatient like that!) I stamped the large "love" heart from the With All My Heart set. I love how the individual letters are separate so that I could stamp them in colors to match my background. I stamped a smaller sentiment as well...very carefully in two steps so that I could heat emboss the portion of the sentiment the extends into the black heart. I stamped that part first with versamark and then heat embossed it. Then I inked up my stamp again with black ink - very carefully just to ink up the portion of the sentiment that wasn't already done. I added some strips of colorful paper along the top (from the Shakers & Sprinkles kit) as well as some black baker's twine.
My next card has a bit of watercolor on it as well. I used the smoosh method again, this time just in a small area to go behind my sentiment, using Aqua Mist and Limeade Ice inks. Once it was dry I stamped my sentiment in black ink and trimmed down the panel. I layered a Limitless Layers Heart diecut window over the top and embellished it with some twine and flowers stamped using the With All My Heart set.
I layered this panel over another panel of white cardstock which was stamped using the flower cluster from the With All My Heart set. I adhered everything at an angle to an Aqua Mist card base.
That wraps up my projects for today using the With All My Heart set, but if you want to see more fresh inspiration for this set you can hop around to the other girls sharing projects today...
