February 11, 2015
Good morning! Are you ready for your daily dose of Papertrey Ink Anniversary festivities? I think I might go through withdrawals when this is all over! In case you missed it, Papertrey Ink is celebrating 8 years of business with 10 big days full of new product reveals, contests, and prizes! Hop on over to Nichole's blog for all of the details.
More big reveals today! Many of you have been speculating that this was coming, but I think we do have a few surprises today. Today is all about the new Luxe Metallics collection being released this month! The Luxe Metallics collection includes:
Luxe Gold & Silver Cardstock
Luxe Gold & Silver Adhesive Sheets
Luxe Foil Gold & Silver Paper Collections - these are foiled papers that are printed on Papertrey's Linen Cardstock and they are just gorgeous.
These new Luxe Metallics will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website as of 10pm EST on February 15th, along with any other products I mention as "new" in today's post. Let's get on with the projects, shall we?
Gold is my favorite metallic at the moment, so I just had to reach for that first. My first card uses a gold stripe from the Luxe Foil Gold paper pack. The papers in the Foil pack are A2 sized and contain six different patterns, 3 sheets of each. I used the wide gold stripe here and added a bit of watercoloring on the right upper corner.
I diecut the "birthday" sentiment from the Gold Adhesive sheets using the new Swoosh die collection. The golds in the adhesive sheets and the foil pack match perfectly (the Gold Cardstock is a different shade - a little more "golden" and not as brassy). Since it's adhesive backed it was super easy to adhere this intricate sentiment. I added some roses along the side which were stamped and diecut from the new Bitty Bouquets set. I embossed the leaves with gold embossing powder.
I don't know if there's anything classier looking than a foil-lined envelope, is there? I couldn't wait to try that out using the foil paper and the Envelope Liner die. I love how it turned out!

My next card uses the Gold Adhesive sheets again. This time I used them to embellish the Mighty Oak Cover Plate. I used the cover plate to emboss a panel of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock (to do this just use the embossing mats and your typical embossing sandwich). Then I diecut the Cover Plate from the Gold Adhesive so that I could easily adhere the leaves and trunk.
I didn't cover all of the leaves with the gold, I left some of them plain. Then I sponged ink over the top in rainbow shades. Once I was done sponging I stamped the empty leaves with one of the coordinating leaf images from the Mighty Oak set. I tried to match my ink color with the color of the ink in the background. To finish it off I stamped a sentiment from the new Petite Places: Church set and embossed it with gold.

My next card uses another patterned sheet from the Luxe Foil Gold pattern pack. This one features bitty polka dots with a large circle in the center. The circle coordinates perfectly with the Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" Circle die collection, making it the perfect place to put a shaker...you know I'm always on the lookout for that! lol.
I stamped the "enjoy" sentiment from the new Bitty Bouquets set inside the shaker, along with a few little blooms from that same set. I filled it with sequins and faux sprinkles. I embellished the outside with a few more Bitty Bouquet blooms as well as some leaves which were diecut from the new Luxe Gold cardstock using the 1940's Stamp-A-Faire kit. I love how the embossed detail shows up on the gold cardstock. I added a diecut border which is from Cover Plate: Art Deco. I added a few gold details to the corners as well.

My last card uses several items from the silver collection. I mentioned at the beginning on this post that I am more of a gold fan, but I have to admit, I think this silvery card just might have turned out to be my favorite of the day. I started out with a panel of silver chevron paper from the Luxe Silver Foil paper pad. I added a bit of watercoloring using Limeade Ice and Aqua Mist inks.
When the watercoloring was dry I layered some of the new Bitty Dot Vellum over the top. I diecut the butterfly from the Luxe Silver Cardstock and also from plain vellum. I did a bit of stamping on the vellum using the Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamps, then stitched down the center. I added the "thanks" sentiment from the new Swoosh die collection, cut from Aqua Mist cardstock. A bow from silver thread and a few silver sequins finish it off.
What do you think? Are you as excited as I am about the new Luxe Metallics collection? Everything is so beautiful!
