Sparkle & Shine Valentines...
January 23, 2015
Happy Friday! We are plugging our way through January...February is fast approaching! Do you have your Valentines ready? Valentine's Day is a great day for all things sparkly and shiny, don't you think? I pulled out my Sparkle & Shine stamps and dies and put together a few ideas for you for quick and easy Valentine treats. There are lots of little things you can wrap up that fit with the whole sparkle & shine theme...glitter glue, glow sticks, sparkling drinks, lip gloss...etc, etc! Let me show you what I came up with...
First off are some fun glitter glue treats. My girls love glitter glue, so they were all over these! I started off with the Tasting Tag die, which is so great for little treats like this...makes it so easy to just tie them to the tag.
I stamped the "hey valentine" using the Love You To Pieces Additions set, then stamped the "you ad a little sparkle to my life" using the Sparkle & Shine set. I stamped some of the sparkles from that same set with gold ink. The black baker's twine adds a fun pop.
Next are some little lip gloss treats. I started with some plain tubes of lip gloss/lip balm...I just got the plain jane ones from the dollar store and decked them out with some cardstock gold-stamped sparkles from the Sparkle & Shine set and a bit of gold glitter cardstock around the lid.
For the base of the tag I used the Tasting Tag die once again. This time I started with a Raspberry Fizz base and layered a partial tag over the top, diecut from white cardstock. The sentiments were stamped with the Sparkle & Shine set and the "valentine" from the Love You to Pieces Additions set.
Next is a kid favorite...glow sticks! I started off with the Limitless Layers: Hearts dies as my base. I used the Paint Brush Holder die that was included in the Make It Market: You're a Masterpiece kit (the kit is sold out and no longer available...sorry!) to diecut the holes/slits to hold the glow stick. A word of caution though - these glow sticks seemed a little smaller than the ones the kids normally get, but it was all they had at the store, so I'm not completely sure if regular glow sticks are a little thicker? These were a pretty tight fit for the Paint Brush Holder die, so if regular ones are larger they may not fit. Just a head's up! I layered the word "shine" diecut from some pink glitter paper over the top. The "it's your time to" sentiment was stamped using the Sparkle & Shine set, and the "valentine" was stamped using the Simple Valentine set.
And last but not least, I used the Wine Bottle Tag die to decorate a bottle of sparkling ICE water. You could use this same idea for a bottle of another variety of sparkling drink for your grown-up Valentine. :-) I used the same stamp sets again - Sparkle & Shine, and Love You To Pieces for the "valentine" sentiment.
This time I diecut the word "sparkle" from gold glitter cardstock. I added some diecut hearts to the bottom, cut with the Heart Prints dies using gold glitter and Berry Sorbet cardstocks.
Well, that brings me to the end of my Sparkle & Shine Valentine projects. (hey, did you notice that rhymes?) All supplies are linked in the thumbnails below. I hope you're inspired to create something shiny for your favorite valentine! Have a great weekend!
