Introducing Secret Agent & Zappy Birthday...
January 13, 2015
Are you ready for some cuteness? The Papertrey team is here for a fun group post using a couple of new collections coming your way on January 15th from Papertrey Ink.
Today we are showcasing the Zappy Birthday and Secret Agents sets. These sets are just perfect for the young and young at heart. The Zappy Birthday collection includes a $15 stamp set, some coordinating dies, and a paper pad. The Secret Agent collection includes a $24 stamp set as well as some fun interactive dies.
Let me show you the projects I created using these new sets. First up is a card using Secret Agents. Who doesn't love secret agent stuff? My youngest was all over this stuff (and she's a girl!), so it's definitley not just for boys! Isn't the little secret agent dude just adorable? He makes me smile. I put him on the front of my card, stamped in True Black and Tropical Teal inks, and layered him over a panel of patterned paper which is actually from the new Zappy Birthday paper pad.
I adhered the spy guy with foam tap just at his head and feet so I could tuck a Tiny Envelope diecut behind him to make it look like he's carrying this oversized (for him!) envelope under his arm. I stamped a few "top secret" and "restricted access" sentiments from the set onto the envelope.
Here comes the fun part! Inside the envelope is a little secret code note which can be red using the super secret agent glasses. The glasses are a die...how fun! Papertrey is also going to be carrying the colored transparency sheets to use in the glasses. I stamped a sentiment in Aqua Mist ink, then stamped the "scrambler" image over the top using Pure Poppy ink.
When you look through the red glasses the red ink disappears and the sentiment is revealed.
I made a little pocket on the inside of the card to hold the glasses...

My next card uses the new Zappy Birthday set to create a fun comic book style card. I felt like my comic needed a star...so who better than the adorable puppy from the Tremendous Treats Valentine set? He's always been one of my favorit images...now he gets to be super puppy. :-)
I took the grid/comic paper from the Zappy Birthday paper pad and cut other papers to fill in the areas. I diecut, stamped and colored the puppies and layered them over the patterned paper, trimming off most of his body in each space so we can just see his head peeking out. I diecut several of the different words and bubbles and arranged them in the spaces. I think it turned out super fun and little boys would just love it. :-)
