Introducing Baker's Dozen...
January 14, 2015
Welcome back for another Papertrey Ink group post for the January countdown. Today the team is featuring a sweet new set of stamps and dies called Baker's Dozen, designed by Nichole. It's a set of thirteen different cupcakes, one for each month, plus and extra, just for fun. These new stamps and dies will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website at 10pm EST on January 15th.
Let me show you my projects. Up first is a sweet shaker card. There is a great oval frame image and die included in the set which I used to put together this little shaker. I adhered one of the cupcakes over the clear cardstock shaker cover, stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copics.
I filled the shaker with some of the faux sugar and pink sequins from the Shakers & Sprinkles kit. I covered the background of the card with confetti which was diecut using the Shaker Shapes: Square dies. The "Sprinkled with love" sentiment and banner are all part of the new Baker's Dozen set. If you already own the Shaker's & Sprinkles kit, this set would be a fun addition!
I went all out on my next card and created a scene that mimics the window of a bakery, complete with a striped awning! I started out with a white card base and used the Journal Card 7 to cut a window in the front of my card...there are lots of different dies you could use for this...just pick one that's the size you want your window to be.
Then I covered the opening with some clear cardstock to which I added the diecute oval frame and stamped the "celebrate" sentiment in white Staz On ink.
To make the awning, I stamped a strip of white cardstock using pink ink and the Background Basics: Super Stripes set. Then I diecut the bottom edge with the Small Scalloped Border die. I added a couple of score lines - one near the top and one near the bottom and just folded to create the awning. I didn't attach the bottom of the awning, I just left it loose, so even though it has a lot of dimension, it still flattens out for mailing...the recipient should be able to just pop the awning back out. I added the little banner and "happy birthday" sentiment, both from the Baker's Dozen set to my awning.
I placed three different cupcakes inside my card, all resting on pretty cake plates. The cake plates are a companion die...how fun! I diecut them from Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, and gold metallic cardstock. I colored the cupcakes with Copics and added a bit of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.
Supplies not linked, but available on January 15 from Papertrey Ink: Baker's Dozen stamp set and coordinating dies, Cake Plate dies
