Monthly Moments: September + Shaker Shapes: Ornament Dies and more Sparkle & Shine...
September 12, 2014
It's time for the first group post day for the September Papertrey Ink countdown, where we all showcase projects using the new Monthly Moments line-up. I also have a few projects to share today using the new Shaker Shapes: Ornament die and Sparkle & Shine products! Everything I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase on September 15th at 10pm eastern from the Papertrey Ink site.
First off is my Monthly Moments project. I created a fun fall card using the Monthly Moments: September stamp set, Journaling Pad, and Journal Pocket 3 die.
I just LOVE the "autumn" sentiment with those cool leaves on the letters. Ack! I tucked some Leaf Prints diecuts (cut from white cardstock and vellum) into the little journal card pocket. I also added some journaling cards from the September pad. I added a few diecut sequins using the new Sparkle & Shine sequins dies, which were cut from Copper Shimmer cardstock. I sprinkled in a few tiny real requins as well.
To see more projects using the September Monthly Moments line up, be sure to hop around to the other DT blogs to see what they've created...

Now I have a few projects to share with you using the Shaker Shapes: Ornament dies! The Shaker Shapes: Ornament has 4 dies in the set - the backing, the front with the oval window cut-out, and the topper and a decorative tip for the bottom.
Here is a card made with the Ornament dies. Inside the shaker I stamped the "sending a little holiday" from the Sparkle & Shine Holiday Additions set, and the "sparkle" from the main Sparkle & Shine set. Recognize the sunburst in the background? That's from the Shakers + Sprinkles stamp set from the Shakers + Sprinkles kit. I love how items from the kit can be mixed and matched with these new A La Carte goodie. More options is always good. :-)
I filled my shaker with a few sequins and layered the diecut over a printed panel from the Sparkle & Shine patterned paper pad - this pad has some A2 sized panels which make for instand backgrounds - same idea as those that were in the Shakers + Sprinkles kit, except with a holiday twist. The little diecut sparkles are from the Shaker Shapes: Square die set (they coordinate with the sparkle stamps fround in the main Sparkle & Shine stamp set).

One of the many things I'm liking about the Shaker Shapes dies is that they are very versatile. You are definitely not limited to just creating shaker elements from them. They can be used as basic frames, tags, and more. Here is a set of tags I create with the Shaker Shapes: Ornament dies. I didn't turn them into shakers, I just left the frame portion open. They were super quick and fun to make!
I used the sparkle print paper from the Sparkle & Shine paper pad to cut the frame portion. The topper and decorative bottom piece were just cut from plain cardstock, then stamped on using the Bitty Background Blocks II stamp set. The sentiments are from the new Keep It Simple: Merry Christmas and Keep It Simple: Season's Greetings sets. The "to" and "from" are from last year's 2013 Holiday Tags set.
