Introducing Book Club + Shaker Shapes: Square dies...

It's yet another group post day for the Papertrey Ink September countdown.  Do you love group post days as much as I do?  I just love seeing what everyone creates using the same stamps and dies!  Today the team is showcasing a line-up of products all centered around books and bookmarks.  Dawn has designed some fabulous bookmark dies along with a great sentiment set containing quotes from various literary sources.  AND Erin has also designed some great Stitched Bookmarks dies too, for even more options!  All of these new products will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website on September 15th at 10pm eastern.

I have projects to share using both Dawn's stamps and bookmark dies and Erin's Stitched Bookmarks dies.  Let me start of with my projects using Dawn's new goodies.  I created a card, tag, and bookmark using the Basic Bookmark 3 die...which is really anything but basic!  This die is gorgeous and I'll be using it for lots of different things!

Bookmarks-ensemble

For my card I trimmed off the top of the bookmark die and then flipped it upside down and adhered it to the remaining piece for a pretty layered look. I topped it off with a Life is Beautiful butterfly which was diecut from gold metallic cardstock, topped with some felt leaves, flowers, and rainstones.  One of the sentiments from the Book Club stamp set.  It would the perfect thing to brighten someone who's going through a difficult time.

For my tag, I did the same thing with the Bookmark die that I did on the card - trimmed it down and layered the pieces.  I stamped the top portion with BB: Super Stripes before layering it over the bottom piece.  I once again added some felt leaves and flowers, along with a small butterfly diecut from Be Happy.  The "thinking of you" sentiment is also from the Book Club set.

And last, but definitely not least is the actual bookmark.  I kept it very simple.  The die really does all the work for you!  I put a post-it note across the top for a mask, then stamped the stripes using BB: Super Stripes.  I added the same sentiment, along with another gold diecut butterfly.

Notice the little tassel on the end of the bookmark?  Super easy to make.  I just cut a strip of felt, snipped it every 1/8" or so, then put a strip of Scor-Tape across the top and rolled it up.  I knotted the end of the twine and put placed it on top of the felt strip before I started rolling.  Easy peasy!

Up next I have a quick and easy bookmark made with the new Stitched Bookmarks dies.  There are lots of different options with these.  I chose to cut a window from the front piece.  I sandwiched a piece of cute chevron fabric in between the felt front and back.  You could get tons of different looks by switching out the felt colors and fabrics inside the cut-outs.  I already had to shoo my daughter off to bed at bed time last night because she wanted to dig through the fabric bins to pick out a fabric to make one with...ha!

I was kind of loving how the tassel turned out on the first bookmark, so I put one on this one too.

I also have a few last Shaker Shapes and Sparkle & Shine cards!  I haven't shared any projects using the Shaker Shapes: Square set, so I thought I'd put a few together for you.  First up is a simple shaker tag using Shaker Shapes: Square along with Dawn's new Season's Greetings sentiment set.  I also pulled out her Candy Cane Christmas set to stamp some peppermints in the background - I thought they were a perfect fit for the sentiment! (and yesssss....I realize the treats in my jar are not homemade...but it's release week!  My family is lucky to eat at meal time, let along have fresh-baked goodies...ha!)

Peppermint-tag

I filled the shaker with the fake sugar from the Shakers + Sprinkles kit.

And last but not least is a birthday card using the Shaker Shapes: Square dies and Sparkle & Shine stamps and word dies...

  Birthday-sparkles

There are confetti dies as well as sparkle dies nested inside the square frames in the die set.  I filled my shaker the confetti pieces.  I embellished the outside of the shaker with the sparkle diecuts (they coordinate with the stamps from the Sparkle & Shine stamp set).  The background of the card was stamped with the sparkle stamps as well.
