Vegetable Garden Revisited...
August 01, 2014
Welcome to the Papertrey Ink August Sr Team challenge. Can you believe it's August already? I can't. We've had so much going on in our lives this summer...not nearly enough time to enjoy having the kids home. I'm not ready for school to start back up, but it's coming fast!
The first of the month means it's time for the Sr Team challenge where we pull out an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration. This month we're featuring Vegetable Garden...such a perfect one for this time of year! It's such a pretty set, Nichole did a fabulous job of illustrating the veggies in this set -- so much detail!
NIchole challenged us to find a couple of inspiration pieces from Pinterest to inspire our projects today. I came across this cool illustration...

And it inspired this card. Bright and colorful veggies...kind of fun! I stamped them in lots of different colors, cut them apart and pieced them back together.
I tossed in a few little leaf diecuts from The Best is Yet to Be die collection to fill in the empty spaces, and also scattered some colorful enamel dots between the veggies. Everything is layered over a Soft Stone polka dot paper.
My next project is a much simpler, one layer card using the tomato image from the set. It was inspired by this artwork...
I thought this card would be the perfect way to say thanks to a generous neighbor that's always willing to share from the bounty of their garden. I started out by stamping the leaf flourish from Turning a new leaf twice onto a panel of Rustic White cardsock. Then I stamped several tomatoes using the rock 'n roll technique and various shades of red, orange, and yellow inks.
After I was finished stamping I embossed it with the Woodgrain Impression plate. The "thank you for sharing" sentiment from Dawn's Thank You Kindly set was the perfect finishing touch.
