Introducing Superstition...
August 14, 2014
Welcome to yet another group post for the August Papertrey Ink countdown! Only one more day until all of the new August stamps and dies will be up in the store.
Today the team is showcasing a couple of new sets, all with a cat theme. The main set, called Superstition, is geared towards fall and halloween, but there is an everyday additions set with some great sentiments that will bring many of the cat images into your everyday creations.
These new stamps and dies will be available for purchase tomorrow night, August 15th, at 10pm eastern on the Papertrey Ink website.
Let me show you a couple of projects I created using these new sets. First up is a Halloween themed card. I used one of the cats from the Superstition set along with the prevriously released Picket Fence die to create a shaker card.
I used white cardstock for the backing of the shaker portion (the shaker frame and backer is from the Shakers + Sprinkles kit). I stamped the large moon from the new Full Moon set in the upper right corner and also a sentiment from the Superstition set. I filled the shaker with star sequins, also from the Shakers + Sprinkles kit. The shaker is adhered to a clear-front card base. Before adhereing the shaker to the clear front, I embellished it with a few wonderfully creepy clouds from the Full Moon set (diecut from vellum), as well as a moon, which was diecut from Gold Shimmer cardstock using the Limitless Layers 2 1/2" Circle dies.

My second project today has a totally different feel, but uses the same cat image from Superstition. This time I paired it with a cute sentiment from the Everyday Cat Sentiments set. I perched two of the cats on the branch from Out On a Limb (is this not still one of the best sets ever?? I still reach for it all the time).
I positioned them on the branch so they look like they're snuggling...kind of makes you go "awwwwww", doesn't it? :-) It was a super quick and easy card.
