Designer Phone Case Inspirations...
July 14, 2014
It's time for the second group post of the July 2014 Papertrey Ink countdown and we have a surprise for you today! We like to sneak things in once in a while that aren't revealed in the sneak peeks...and today is one of those days. Erin has designed another set of her fabulous stitching dies. This time...Phone Cases! These are so fun to make. My daughter already snatched this one up and I'll be needing to make a few more.
These new Phone Case stitching dies will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website as of 10pm Eastern on July 15th. Let me show you a few projects I made using these new dies...
First up, is of course, a phone case. Well, an iPod case, actually. I used brightly colored felt in some of my daughter's favorite colors, along with one of the Sew Stylish alphabet dies to create a monogram.
The stitched Chevrons are from the new Phone Case Details die collection. I added some felt flowers, which were cut with a couple of previously released flower dies. I also added the little heart tab, which is from the Coffee Cozy Details die collection.
It was so much fun to make and it came together really quickly!

My next project uses the Phone Case dies to create a paper project instead of a sewing project. I diecut the case twice from white cardstock and trimmed it down so it wasn't quite so tall. I stitched the two pieces together to create a little pocket card. It's the perfect way to present a gift card.
I used the chevron dies to cut some patterned paper from the Beautiful Brushstrokes kit, and added a few stamped flowers from the kit as well. The "thanks" was stamped using the new Wet Paint Alphabet stamps. "Again" is a sentiment that's included in the new Get Lost stamp set being released this month. I also created a coordinating envelope by stamping a few sketchy circls from the Polka Dot Basics III set.
