Papertrey Ink March 2014 Release Wrap up...
March 15, 2014
Well, we've come to the end of yet another release. All of the new March goodies will be up for sale in the store tonight at 10pm EST. I'm here to share the rest of my projects with you that haven't already been blogged. I'll make this short and sweet as there are 6 projects today!
First is a card using the Just Smile set...
I really like that mini polaroid-like frame. So cute!

Next I used Just Smile again, but this time I combined it with the large sentiment collage from Birthday Classics: April.
I added the ultra-fine gold tape from the Luxe Letterpress kit to the dividing lines in the sentiment. The flowers along the bottom are from the new Just Smile, and the background was stamped using BB: Super Stripes

Next is a little number using the Phrase Plate #2 stamps and die...
The pieced background behind the stamped sentiment was made by piecing together triangles cut with the Cover Plate: Triangles die. I layered some clear carsdtock over the half-circle opening and stamped the sentiment with white Staz On ink.

My next card is super simple and it features a sentiment from the new Wet Paint sentiment set. I heat embossed the "happy" with gold and clear powder onto the 220lb letterpress paper from the Luxe Letterpress kit, the colored over it with some gelatos, gently blending them with a wet wipe. I like the way the heavy paper doesn't warp with the moisture.
The embossing powder takes on a different effect on the letterpress papers...the paper kind of abosrbs the powder resulting in more of a matte, unraised finish. I added some strips of gold tape and a heart diecut from gold foil paper.

My next card is totally different than what I normaly create! This one uses the new Gatsby Glamour stamp set. I heat embossed that beautiful ornate frame with gold powder onto Smokey Shadow cardstock.
Behind the frame I used the Rainbow Stripes die to diecut the gold foil paper from the Luxe Letterpress kit. I thought it looked very Art Deco-ish. I adhered the gold foil paper to a piece of white carsdtock before I diecut it to give it more stability.

I saved my favorite for last! Here I used the new Monthly Moments: March stamp set and chevron die. I made my own "cover plate" of sorts by diecutting the arrow/chevron die several times onto my cardstock panel.
For the sentiment I pulled out the Wonderful Words: Hello die and paired it with the circle "spring" from the Monthly Moments set and the kite, also from that set.
